Fitzdares Sign Up Offer for September 2024 – Fitzdares UK Review

Fitzdares Overview

Fitzdares is an online sports betting site with a unique history and a great Fiztdares welcome offer. The company is able to trace its roots as far back as 1882, when farmer Tom Guntrip set himself up as a bookmaker. His bookmaking business was eventually purchased by another bookmaker called Sunderlands (nothing to do with the Wearside city).

In 2005, Balthazar Fabricius set up a telephone-only bookmaker he called Fitzdares, and in 2016, he purchased Sunderlands. In 2018, Fitzdares became an online bookmaker, initially via an app but eventually as a sports betting website. Fitzdares had also set itself up as an exclusive, members-only (the membership fee in 2023 was £600 a year) gaming club in Mayfair.

Given Fitzdares’ background, it is hardly surprising that the emphasis on the site and app is horse racing. Most of the offers are for horse racing, but football offers are available too. The horse racing coverage at Fitzdares is exceptional, with live streaming of races from the UK, France, the US, Australia and others. Coverage of other sports is really good, too, as you will discover by reading this Fitzdares review.

Bet Here Because:

  • Impressive history going back nearly 150 years
  • Exceptional for horse racing
  • Live streaming of horse racing from all corners of the globe
  • Bespoke offers for frequent site users
  • Extra special bonuses for Fitzdares Club members

But Keep in Mind:

  • Only debit cards are accepted for deposits
  • Site design could be improved

Our rating system explained

betting markets

4.6/5
All the main markets are covered at Fitzdares which is the important thing. Coverage of horse racing is exceptional, with football not far behind. Despite this, the number of markets offered by Fitzdares is a little disappointing as it is lighter than most. This is not really under their control though - it's down to the sports betting software offered by FSBTech (now part of EveryMatrix).

odds

4.7/5
Again, the odds offered by Fitzdares is something they do not control, as they are set by FSBTech. Having said that, London-based FSBTech have always had a very good reputation for the competitiveness of their odds, so you won't be in a hurry to look beyond Fitzdares if you want better odds than this sports betting site provides.

support

4.6/5
The lack of FAQs at Fitzdares is a surprise, although if you have the patience you may find your queries answered via the sites' wordy terms and conditions. This would normally gain a sports betting site several down votes, but we added them back on as the site offers telephone support at 020 7851 5407 and SMS support at 07492 882213. You can email the site at [email protected] too, and they say they are available 24/7.

payment methods

4.5/5
Only debit cards available for deposits, and only the addition of bank transfers for withdrawals. At least all methods are free of fees and the limits (£5/£10 automatic, no limit if contacting support) are perfectly acceptable. Processing times are a little slow, at a max of three days to process and another three days to transfer, although lengthy withdrawal times are likely to be a rarity.

bonuses

4.8/5
Fitzdares does excel with the number of bonuses it provides, although some of the terms and conditions of the welcome bonus are needlessly complicated, although the terms are fair including wagering with casino bonuses. We applaud the frequent bettors offers as they are not likely to cause you to over gamble just to gain them.

withdrawal

4.6/5
Not too good - up to three days to process and then another three days to get to you. In practice though we think most withdrawals should be with you within 48 hours.

safety

4.9/5
No concerns here, given Fitzdares' almost stellar reputation. They have been in business (kind of) almost 150 years! We liked the responsible gambling options, and the provision of links to GamCare and such, plus the connection with IBAS.

How to Claim Your Fitzdares Welcome Offer

Let’s take a look now at how to claim your welcome bonus at Fitzdares, whether you are going for the sports betting welcome bonus or the casino welcome bonus. The process is very easy to get through, but we’ve outlined it below anyway.

  1. Visit Fitzdares

You will find a number of buttons you can use to access the Fitzdares sports betting site throughout this page. Click on one to get sent through to the site.
  2. Sign Up

Click the ‘Join Now’ button to commence the sign-up process. Fill in your name, date of birth and phone number on the first page, and your email, selected username and password on the second. You do not need to fill in ‘Coupon Code’ or ‘Proposing Member’
    Sign Up
  3. Make a Deposit

Once your Fitzdares account has been opened, you can head to the cashier and make your qualifying deposit, which must be for at least £10 no matter which bonus you are intending to claim. We recommend that you make your deposit using a debit card.

Fitzdares Welcome Offer Details

Let’s now go through the Fitzdares welcome offer for both sports betting and casino, as both have terms that seem a little confusing on the surface. The terms for the sports betting bonus say it’s a minimum £10 deposit, but you need to place a single bet of £50 … how does that make sense? Well, that’s just to get the full £25. The bonuses you get are based on 20% of your qualifying bet, which can be as low as £5. If you bet £5, though, you’d only get £7 in bonus bets. Once your qualifying bet (which must be at least £5) has settled, you will receive the following.

  • 1 x Football Free Bet, value 20% of qualifying bet maximum £10
  • 1 x Greyhound Racing Free Bet, value 20% of qualifying bet maximum £10
  • 1 x £5 Virtual Sports Free Bet

Therefore, the maximum you can get out of this deal is £25, plus your 10 free spins on Reel King worth 10p each. Any qualifying bet must be placed on an event with minimum odds of Evens (2.00), and free bets must be used on events with minimum odds of 1/2 (1.50). Free spins winnings are paid directly to you as cash with no wagering. Free bets and spins must be used within seven days.

Moving now onto the casino bonus, you need again to make a minimum deposit of £10 and then stake £20 on qualifying slots within 48 hours. If you are confused as to how you can make a minimum deposit of £10 and then stake £20, you may win money from your slots playing, which will count towards that £20. As soon as your total slots wagering reaches £20, the bonus matching 100 per cent of your qualifying deposit will be paid to you.

Your bonus can only be used on the following games: 20p Roulette, Blackjack, Roulette European, Book of Charms, Fishin’ Bigger Pots of Gold, Break da Bank Again, or Big Bass Bonanza. The bonus comes with a 40x wagering requirement, which must be completed within seven days. Contributions to wagering vary per game.

Other Fitzdares Sports Promotions

Let’s get the horse racing promotions out of the way first, as there are plenty of them. For example, you get 10% back on weekly US horse racing losses as a free bet, a minimum award of £1, maximum of £5,000. You also get your money back as a free bet (first bet only) if your horse finishes second to a 20/1+ winner, and you get a 25% bonus on winning Lucky 15s, 31s and 63s.

Moving to football, if you place an acca on a Saturday (minimum four legs, leg odds of 1/2, total odds 3/1) and it fails by one, you receive a free matched bet minimum of £2 (free bet must be used on minimum odds of 1/2 (1.50). You also get a maximum 30% bonus on winning accas up to £5,000. In tennis, you get 10% back on in-play tennis losses as a free bet (min award £1, max £5,000). You can also earn a free bet every Monday if you’ve made a minimum of seven bets totalling £70 during the previous week, but only if you’ve been selected because of your activity at Fitzdares.

Fitzdares Casino Bonus Details

As well as a decent number of sportsbook bonuses, Fitzdares offers plenty of casino bonus deals. You get back ten per cent of your weekly net losses up to £50 as a slots or table games bonus with only 1x wagering and a £2,500 maximum win. On Tuesdays, every £10 you stake on live games gains you a single entry into a prize draw with a total pool of £1,000. On Wednesdays, you gain 10 free 20p spins for every £50 stake on slots up to a maximum of 100.

If you’ve made a minimum of £50 in casino bets over the previous seven days, you’ll receive up to 45 free 10p spins on a selected slot or a £50 casino bonus (1x wagering, £100 max win on selected games). Sunday is scratch card day at Fitzdares – if you stake over £50 on scratchies on a Sunday, you’ll receive a £5 scratch card bonus with only 1x wagering and a max win of £1,000.

All these promotions were available at the time of this Fitzdares review. Always check the site for the latest news about Fitzdares bonus codes and promotions.

Fitzdares Key Features

So, how does Fitzdares compare to other leading betting sites when it comes to the key features it provides? Does it compare favourably, or is it lacking in specific aspects? Does it offer something that other sites don’t? Read on if you want to find out.

Main Site Features

Like most sports betting sites these days, Fitzdares is split into multiple sections. In this case, the sections are sports, casino, live casino, fantasy and virtuals. The final tab on the Fitzdares main menu is for the offers and promotions that the site provides for its punters.

The sports betting arm of Fitzdares does follow a very standard sports betting site template, with the menu of markets on the left-hand side of the screen, the main markets and odds in the centre, and your betslip and other features on the right. There is a slightly annoying carousel of betting offers at the top of the screen, but a quick scroll up soon gets rid of that.

Horse racing is the main feature at this site, which, given Fitzdares’ past association with the Sport of Kings, should come as no surprise. The next two major races for the off are presented up front and central. This is usually followed by a selection of featured bets, the live or in-play markets and then that day’s leading football match-ups. Any other market can be selected via the A-Z menu on the left.

Live Betting

‘In-Play’ betting is right at the top of the ‘Popular’ menu at the top of the Fitzdares sports betting site. You can see how many events are currently available for live betting with the number in red right next to the ‘In-Play’ menu item. To see the markets in full, click on the menu item.

Football seems to be given priority with Fitzdares’ live betting markets. The current most popular events are listed first with odds for 1X2, total goals over/under and BTTS betting markets. The number to the left of each match gives the number of specific markets available. Click on the number to see all current markets.

Other than football, live betting markets are available for tennis, golf, baseball, basketball, table tennis and eSports. The number of live betting markets available depends upon the day of the week and the time, so expect this menu to be flooded on Saturday afternoons in the UK!

Early Cash Out

Cash out is a feature which Fitzdares offers on various singles and multiple bets on this sports betting site. It’s a way of allowing you to amend your original bet so that you lock in a profit or minimise a loss by settling your bet before the event you have bet upon has concluded.

If you request a cash out then you will receive a notification if your cash out has been successful. Cash-out requests are not always offered as it depends on the length of time the event has to run and the current stake of your bet.

Any bets that you do cash out will not be available for bonuses. They will be void if you intend to use them as a qualifying bonus, and any bonuses such as system bet bonuses and acca boosts will not be applied to them.

Live Streaming

There is a huge amount of live streaming available for horse racing at Fitzdares. When we checked the site, we found live streams of horse races in the UK, Ireland, France, the US, Italy, Panama, Czechia and Spain. The site says it broadcasts all races from the UK and Ireland (although we found some that didn’t look like they were being televised, namely from Chelmsford … maybe technical difficulties?) and most global races including Australia but excluding Japan.

As for other sports … almost zip. All UK Greyhound meetings are live-streamed at Fitzdares, but that is it. No other sports are available for live streaming here.

Bet Builder

Fitzdares does have a bet builder, although it is called ‘Create a Bet’. With this feature, you can create your own multiple bet using elements of the same match – such as the match result, first/last/anytime goalscorer, player shots/foul and so on. All separate bets within your built bet must be on the same match, though.

A few sports betting sites in the UK allow bet builders on multiple sports (usually team sports), but it seems Fitzdares cannot be added to this list. We searched a few of the usuals such as basketball, baseball and Aussie rules, and none of them had an option for a bet builder. Therefore we have to conclude that Fitzdares ‘Create a Bet’ is only available on football.

Promotions and Loyalty Program

We mentioned plenty of promotions that Fitzdares offers for sports betting and the casino. Please jump back up this review if you missed this information the first time around.

There is no loyalty program at the Fitzdares sports betting site, but there is a loyalty reward. You have to make at least seven bets with a total combined stake in excess of £70 between 00:01 on Monday and 23:59 on Sunday. All qualifying bets must be placed at odds of Evens (2.00) or greater – any less than that, and that bet won’t count towards your wagering total.

If you do this on any week, you will be awarded with a £10 free bet come Monday morning (finally, a reason to look forward to Monday!). If you become a ‘selected’ Fitzdares account holder then you may be eligible for a bigger reward. Your free bet, no matter how big, must be placed at odds of 1/2 (1.50) or greater, and your free bet stake is not returned regardless of whether it wins or loses.

Responsible Gambling Tools

This site’s responsible gambling tools can be found in the ‘safer gambling’ section at the bottom of any page. Just click on it for information. Although the site does have a little information about how it keeps you safe from yourself should you show signs of problematic gambling, it seems keen to hand you off to other resources, such as GamCare. It does, though, perform non-evasive affordability checks, usually based on location. If your gambling causes Fitzdares concerns, they may limit your account until you can prove you have the funds to pay for it.

You can, though, quite easily set deposit limits and casino loss limits. Reality checks can be set up too to remind you how long you have been playing, and reality checks are set up automatically at 60 minutes and cannot be set to any longer period than that. You can also request to take a time out, and self-exclude for 6 months, one year, two years or five years. You can, of course, exclude yourself from all UKGC-licensed betting sites via GAMSTOP.

The site lists a few helpful resources such as GamCare, TalkBanStop, Gamblers Anonymous, the National Gambling Treatment Service and the National Debtline.

What You Can Bet On at Fitzdares

Fitzdares has a very decent number of markets. As we have already explained, Fitzdares really emphasises its horse racing roots. The main markets are all horse-racing related, but football is not far behind as are other popular markets. The full A to Z of available sports at Fitzdares is presented below, but be warned it’s a tighter list than most.

American Football Aussie Rules Baseball Basketball Biathlon
Boxing Cricket Cross Country Cycling Darts
eSports Football Futsal Golf Greyhounds
Handball Horse Racing Ice Hockey MMA Motor Sports
Politics Rugby League Rugby Union Ski Jumping Snooker
Specials Table Tennis Volleyball

The Fitzdares Betting App

Fitzdares does have betting apps on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. You can hunt for them yourself, or you can visit the Fitzdares site on your mobile device and pop down to the bottom of any page. There, you will find magic links that will pop open to allow you to download whichever app you wish.

fitzdares app

We have to say that the app is not the best we’ve seen – the text and icons are a bit too large, which means you don’t get a lot of information on the screen, especially if your phone has a small screen. We think this app is more suited to tablets or phones with large screens. No matter, the full functionality of the Fitzdares site is available via the app, which at least runs smoothly. Don’t forget, if you want to go mobile but don’t want to download betting apps, the Fitzdares sports betting website can be used on any mobile device via a web browser.

Fitzdares Payment Methods

This section is going to be brief as there is only a single payment system in place at Fitzdares – debit cards. You can only use Visa or MasterCard debit cards at Fitzdares, so no eWallets like PayPal, Skrill and Neteller, no bank transfers such as Trustly, Instant Bank Transfer or Yaspa, and definitely no ‘pay by phone’ options. A bank transfer to a personal bank account is offered too, but only for withdrawals.

The minimum accepted deposit is £5, and as usual, deposits are processed instantly. The minimum amount you can withdraw automatically is £10, and there are no fees. Withdrawals lower than £10 can be requested via support. Your first withdrawal and, consequently, any large withdrawals are subject to KYC checks. Withdrawals are not super-swift here and can take up to five days to get to you.

Payment Method Fees Min. Deposit Min. Withdrawal Processing Time
Debit Card (Visa/MasterCard) Free £5 £10 Instant (Deposit)

3-5 days (Withdrawal)

Bank Transfer Free Unavailable £10 3-5 days (Withdrawal)

How Safe is Fitzdares?

Fitzdares has a reputation to protect. It set itself up as a premium phone-betting service (indeed, Fitzdares phone betting is still available) and added an esteemed gentleman’s betting club. Only recently has it added an app, with a website swiftly following. It’s unlikely that Fitzdares is going to do anything to ruin the reputation that it has built. Its betting licence was awarded in 2009 (online 2016) and they’ve had zero problems with UKGC compliance in all that time. The Fitzdares sports betting site is the only site Fitzdares runs.

The Fitzdares sports betting software is provided by FSB Tech, a UK company with an excellent reputation (although they have recently been bought by Malta-based EveryMatrix). Fitzdares also subscribes to IBAS, which is an independent betting adjudication service. This means that if you run into problems for whatever reason at Fitzdares, you can get help via IBAS.

Fitzdares Casino Review

Fitzdares was awarded its casino licence in 2018, just two years after gaining its online betting licence. If you’ve been paying attention, you will know Fitzdares has an online casino, as we have already told you about all the casino-based promotions it offers. You can enter the casino portal via the ‘casino’ selection on the top menu at the site or the ‘live casino’ selection if you want to play live casino games. The casino at Fitzdares is not exactly aesthetically attractive, but you’re probably not going to worry about that if you want to play casino games here. The site has slots (over 2,000), table games (115), Slingo (58) and jackpot games. Providers include NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Microgaming.

Table games include all the usuals such as blackjack, roulette and baccarat, plus other games like hi-lo, dragon tiger and casino poker. The live casino has all the usuals, provided by Playtech and Evolution, plus game shows like Lightning Storm, Adventures Beyond Wonderland and Crazy Pachinko.

The other options at Fitzdares include Virtuals and Fantasy. The virtuals are five sports (horse racing – flat, jumps and sprints – football, greyhounds, cycling and motor racing) presented as computer-run simulations with events running every three minutes or so.  The Fitzdares fantasy element comprises of two football games (Football Survivor and Big 5) and one horse racing (Shout Racing). These are ‘predict the result’ style competitions that cost £5 to enter. You can read in detail about them on the Fitzdares site.

Our Final Verdict

Fitzdares has certainly come a long way since Mr Guntrip, the farmer, became a bookie nearly 150 years ago. It’s now an extremely good sports betting site with excellent apps plus a casino, live casino, virtual sports and fantasy games. We especially recommend Fitzdares for fans of horse racing betting sites, although if you’re not a frequent horse racing bettor there’s still plenty to like about this sports betting bonanza.

Not all is perfect though. Only a single deposit method is accepted, so you can’t use eWallets. The site design is also a little lacking, especially when it comes to the casino. It’s certainly not enough to put us off though, and we don’t think it should be enough to put anyone else off using the Fitzdares sports betting site either.
