The NBA season is around the corner, and to preview the upcoming year, our group of experts has been asked to think of one question for every team.

Here it is for the Central division!

Chicago Bulls: Who will they be?

While this seems like a perpetual question of the past few seasons, it feels particularly relevant ahead of 2024-25. Gone is the excellence of Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan, who both served pivotal roles in the Chicago Bulls’ consecutive Play-In berths (and 2021-22 playoff appearance). Entering are recent top-10 picks Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey, the former of whom is the Bulls’ first lottery selection since 2020.

Coby White, still only 24 years old, should see another uptick in offensive responsibilities following his 2023-24 breakout and DeRozan’s departure. Ayo Dosunmu, also 24 years old, showcased some nifty second-side creation while shooting 40 percent from deep last season and being a feisty point-of-attack pest. Dalen Terry has struggled through two years, but is just 22 and clearly has some intrigue as a spunky wing.

There are a lot of youthful options on this Bulls squad — one that shouldn’t be very competitive. Although, the state of the Eastern Conference may open the door for another Play-In appearance, which is good for Chicago’s decision-makers and bad for its long-term outlook.
