Elijah Smith isn’t letting the recent whirlwind of success go to his head. The newest member of the UFC’s bantamweight division earned his spot with a dominant performance on Dana White’s Contender Series, and despite the excitement, he remains laser-focused on his next challenge.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with RG.org<\/a>, Smith opened up about the emotional rollercoaster of fight week. Stepping in on short notice undoubtedly brought its share of nerves, but Smith emphasizes his ability to compartmentalize. “There were a lot of nerves,” he admits, “but I just stayed focused, knowing this is just another fight.”<\/p>\n
