He later returned to finish the game.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the fear that Darnold suffered a major injury, Vikings head coach Kevin O&#8217;Connell revealed the good news on Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Really good news. Positive news,&#8221; O&#8217;Connell said of Darnold on Monday via <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/FOX9\/status\/1838294976926503303?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1838294976926503303%7Ctwgr%5Ee22705e61638a72973a863b4972b196abdf0202d%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sportscasting.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost-new.php\">Fox 9<\/a>. &#8220;Extensive evaluations this morning, really just revealing a knee bruise in there. A little sore. McCarthy for the starting position. After McCarthy suffered a season-ending knee injury in training camp, Darnold became the opening-week starter.<\/p>\n<p>Darnold has taken the job and thrived, completing 53 of 78 passes for 657 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions.<\/p>\n<p>More importantly, Darnold and the Vikings are first in the NFC North at 3-0.
