The legendary Rafael Nadal comes in at ninth place among the highest paid tennis players, with his earnings in 2024 reaching a reported £10.1m. Almost £10m of that though, has come from endorsements, with less than £200,000 coming from prize money.

His endorsement deals include Kia, Santander, Telefonica, Infosys, Cantabria Labs, Playtonic, Louis Vuitton, Richard Mille, and he has also become an ambassador for Saudi Arabia’s tennis federation.

Nadal, who has finished the year as the ATP men’s singles world number one on five occasions, has led the men’s side of the sport alongside Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic for well over a decade, with the trio often being referred to as the ‘Big Three’.

Having won 22 Grand Slam titles, which includes a record 14 French Open triumphs, as well as 92 ATP-level singles titles, the Spaniard is truly considered one of the greats, however his career is seemingly reaching its end.

The 38-year-old struggled with injuries throughout 2023, resulting in him dropping out of the top 100 for the first time since 2003. Nadal skipped the most recent Wimbledon, and returned to the court at the Swedish Open, partnering with Norwegian Casper Ruud in the doubles competition.

Despite sustaining several injuries throughout 2023, and subsequently dropping down to No. 289 in the WTAA world rankings, Emma Raducanu remains in the top 10 highest earning tennis players in the world, mainly due to her endorsement deals.

Of the reported £12.5m the Brit has earned over the past 12 months, almost £12.3m of that is from endorsements, with just over £200,000 being earned from prize money, with the likes of British Airways, Porsche, Tiffany, Dior, Evian, Wilson, Nike, HSBC and Vodafone comprising the list of her main sponsorship deals.

At Wimbledon, Raducanu defeated Renata Zarazua, Elise Mertens, and world No. 9; Maria Sakkari, to return to the WTA top 100, however she was eliminated by New Zealand qualifier Lulu Sun in the round of 16.

Sinner kicked off 2024 by winning his first ever major, defeating Botic van de Zandschulp, Jesper de Jong, , Sebastian Baez, Karen Khachanov, Andrey Rublev, Novak Djokovic, and Daniil Medvedev on his way to the Australian Open title.

He also reigned triumphant at the Rotterdam Open, beating Alex de Minaur in the final, as well as at the Miami Open and the Halle Open, but was eliminated by Medvedev in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

The 37-year-old’s endorsement deals include Asics, Head, Hublot, Lacoste, Lemero, NetJets, Peugeot, Raiffeisen Bank International and Ultimate Software Group, with his Lacoste deal reportedly being one of the most lucrative apparel deals in the sport.

Despite becoming the sport’s oldest world No. 1 of all time earlier in the year, 2024 hasn’t quite been Djokovic’s year. He has since been knocked off top spot by Sinner, and is yet to win a tournament this year, coming closest at Wimbledon, where he was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
