When Is The Next International Break? England Schedule For Upcoming Nations League Fixtures
It feels like just days ago that players were on international duty for the Nations League, but there is already another break coming up in October. See below for all the information regarding who England will face in the next break.
When Is The Next International Break?
The next international break is just over one week away, with domestic football taking a break at the beginning of October as nations compete in the Nations League yet again.
There isn’t just one international break coming up though, with a second set of fixtures scheduled before Christmas making it three international break’s in the first five months of the season.
International Break Dates
- Nations League break 1: October 7-15, 2024
- Nations League break 2: November 11-19, 2024
During October and November nations will play the last four matches of the Nations League group stage, but the knockouts begin for qualified teams early in 2025.
The Nations League quarter finals begin in March between the 17th and the 25th next year, with the semis and the final taking place June 2nd to June 5th.
Nations that don’t qualify for the knockouts will instead compete in international friendlies as the top eight teams progress into the finals in June.
Who Do England Play In The Nations League
England will play two games in the upcoming international break, with the Three Lions taking on Greece at home followed by a trip to Helsinki where they will face Finland.
Lee Carsley is still undefeated as England boss after his first two games in charge and the two respective wins against Ireland and Finland has put the home nation in a good position heading into the second half of the competition.
A flawless beginning for Lee Carsley as England's interim manager. 👏🏴

England’s first opponent, Greece, is currently on top of Nations League B group 2, sitting above England thanks to wins against Ireland and Finland in their first two matches.
Throughout their long history, England has never lost a competitive match against Either Finland or Greece and Carsley stands a very good chance of winning four out of four in his first games in charge.
Despite their impressive record against both upcoming opponents, England have a poor record in the Nations League with just one third place finish in 2019 to show for their three appearances in the competition.
