Carlos Alcaraz has once again turned heads at the US Open, not just for his tennis performance but also for his bold apparel choice.

The 2022 US Open champion has been spotted on court sporting a sleeveless singlet, a look that has caught the attention of many, including fellow tennis star Nick Kyrgios.

Alcaraz beat Kyrgios’ fellow Australian Ti Lu, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 in four sets at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

In an interview following Alcaraz’ win, Kyrgios expressed his admiration for Alcaraz’s outfit, commenting that his “arms are looking sensational.” He even joked that the Spaniard might have designed the singlet himself.

Alcaraz playfully admitted that he enjoys wearing sleeveless shirts, especially in certain tournaments. He explained that he sometimes does so to “put fear into the opponents.”

However, he also acknowledged the practical benefits of the sleeveless look in New York’s hot and humid weather.

Alcaraz’ decision to wear the singlet at the US Open has sparked discussions among fans and commentators alike, with many praising his confidence and willingness to experiment with his look.

Kyrgios, who has been known for his own flamboyant style on and off the court, seemed particularly impressed by Alcaraz’s outfit choice. His positive comments have only added to the buzz surrounding the young Spaniard’s appearance at the tournament.

Alcaraz has had an extraordinary year in 2024, winning the French Open and Wimbledon – the last two Grand Slam tournaments.

He also secured a silver medal at the Paris Olympics, falling short in the gold medal match against Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz’ victory over Li Tu sees him advance to the second round, where he will face Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp.
