Wales Montenegro Team News

With the hosts eyeing qualification for the knockout phase, here’s our Wales Vs Montenegro team news and predicted lineups ahead of this evening’s Nations League clash in Cardiff.

Wales Coughed up a two-goal advantage against Iceland in Reykjavik on Friday, but remain unbeaten in Nations League B Group 4.

Craig Bellamy’s side took the lead through Brennan Johnson and Harry Wilson. But Iceland super-sub Logi Tomasson scored before playing a big part in Danny Ward’s own goal to earn back a point for his team.

The Welsh are now second in their group, with a win and two draws from their first three matches. They trail group leaders Turkey by two points.

Wales and Turkey played out a goalless draw in September before a 2-1 win in Montenegro put the Dragons in a good position to qualify.

Montenegro meanwhile have lost all of their games so far, with their goal against Wales last month the only time they’ve been on the score sheet.

The last four meetings between Wales and Montenegro have ended with two wins a piece. Wales’ only win in their last nine Nations League matches was the victory over tonight’s opponents in September.

Wales Team News

Manager Craig Bellamy will be forced into a handful of changes from Friday’s draw with Iceland. Tottenham’s young star Brennan Johnson has scored six times in as many games for Spurs, but will miss this evening’s game through suspension.

As does Rennes midfielder Jordan James. The pair join the unavailable trio of Dan James, Ethan Ampadu and skipper Aaron Ramsey.

Veteran midfielder Joe Allen recently came out of retirement and may start given Dan James’ absence.

David Brooks and Josh Sheehan provide other options, while Kieffer Moore and Fulham’s Harry Wilson are likely to continue their growing partnership in attack.

Montenegro Team News

For Montenegro, captain Stevan Jovetic is closing in on the country’s all-time record for appearances.

He should be joined up front by Lecce forward Nikola Krstovic, though the pair will be hoping to improve their scoring form.

Despite an eight-game domestic ban for biting an opponent, Preston North End’s Milutin Osmajic is expected to feature again from the bench.

But vice-captain Stefan Savic remains sidelined through injury and will miss the trip to Cardiff.
