Tottenham Injury Update

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has provided an injury update ahead of Sunday’s North London derby, confirming that both Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke are back in training.

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed a major injury boost for Tottenham ahead of Sunday’s North London derby against Arsenal, confirming that both Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke are back in training.

The pair had been unavailable ahead of the international window, and there were questions marks over their availability for the derby match, but it now seems as though they’re ready to feature.

Of course, this comes amid a major absentee crisis within the opposing Gunners’ camp, with all of Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney ruled out through injury and suspension.

There had also been concerns over the fitness levels of Spurs’ Yves Bissouma, who was forced off with an injury while away with Mali, as well as Richarlison and Will Lankshear, who were both ruled out prior to the internationals.

Tottenham Injury Update: Van de Ven And Solanke Back In Training

Speaking to the media in his pre-North London derby press conference, Postecoglou confirmed the return of both Van de Ven and Solanke before touching on Bissouma’s potential injury concern.

“It’s fairly positive, Micky’s [van de Ven] good, he’s trained all the way through the international break, and it was good for him to stay with us to build him back up so he’s ready to go.

“Dom’s [Dominic Solanke] improved as well and trained the back half of this week. We still have two days to go with those guys, so hopefully they get through training ok and are available.”

He continued: “We had the last of the boys in late yesterday, so we’ll have a look at them today and everyone’s reporting all well, except for Bissouma, he’s got a bit of an issue, but we’ll have a look at him over the next couple of days and see how it settles.”

Unfortunately for Spurs fans though, it’s not good news in terms of Richarlison and Lankshear as the pair remain sidelined, with the Australian stating: “Richy’s still got a bit of work to do, alongside Will Lankshear, who is still in rehab.”

Ahead of Sunday’s clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the UK’s best football betting sites have Arsenal as favourites to win the tie at around 13/10, while Spurs are rated at 2/1 to secure all three points.
