James Maddison is worth more than the entire Qarabag squad combined as Tottenham Hotspur welcome the Azerbaijan side in the Europa League.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have made an average start to their 2024/25 season, picking up just seven points from their opening five league games.

The Lilywhites were beaten by Arsenal in their iconic North London Derby, but are coming off a 3-1 win over Brentford in their most recent match.

Spurs begin their Europa League campaign with a visit from Qarabag, after the Premier League side earned a spot in Europe with a fifth place finish last season.

Their opponents on Thursday night have dominated in Azerbaijan for several years now, winning 10 of the last 11 league titles – winning seven in a row from 2013-2020.

They are now going for their fourth consecutive title and are on course after winning five of their opening six league games and sitting top of the league.

Qurban Qurbanov’s side failed to progress in the Champions League play-off stages, losing 5-0 on aggregate to Dinamo Zagreb.

Beating Spurs on Thursday evening could prove to be a monumental task, especially after looking into the squad values of each side – as James Maddison is worth more than the entire Qarabag side combined.
