Steve Bruce is back in the dugout after he was announced as Blackpool’s new Head Coach on September 3. The former Manchester United star has penned a two-year deal with the Tangerines.

Bruce returns to management after almost two years away. Amazingly, 2023 is the only year since 1978 that Bruce hasn’t been involved in football as either a manager or player.

Tasked with bringing the glory days back to the League One side, Bruce’s first game will come against Exeter on September 14 at Bloomfield Road.

The Seasiders are without a win in four games this season. Former boss Neil Critchley was dismissed after just 180 minutes of league action.

Despite a shaky start to the season, football betting sites still have Blackpool’s prospects locked as decidedly mid-table.

Steve Bruce Stats: What Is His Overall Managerial Record?

Bruce has also secured automatic promotion with the Blues and Tigers. He led them both to second place in the Championship in 2007 and 2013 respectively.

Just three years ago, Bruce landed his one and only Premier League Manager of the Month award (April 2021) whilst at Newcastle United.
