Premier League icon, Stan Collymore, has made a bold prediction for Chelsea’s trip to Bournemouth on Saturday evening – picking the Blues to win 3-2.

Stan Collymore Bournemouth vs Chelsea Prediction

Chelsea return to Premier League action with an away visit to Bournemouth on Saturday’s closing fixture, as Enzo Maresca looks to improve on a mixed start as Blues manager.

So far, the side from west London have picked up four points from the first three matches, losing to Manchester City, beating Wolves and drawing to Crystal Palace last time around.

In contrast, Bournemouth are yet to lose a Premier League fixture and are coming off a miraculous 3-2 victory over Everton – coming back from 2-0 down in the final stages.

In preparation for the match, Stan Collymore has made a bold prediction and believes the Blues will narrowly edge past Bournemouth in a five-goal spectacle.

Stan Collymore is predicting a five-goal thriller when Bournemouth host Chelsea this weekend, tipping the visitors to sneak a 3-2 victory.

He said (Via talkSPORT): “They are both creating chances, they are both scoring goals. Lots of suggestions that Bournemouth may tank after [Dominic] Solanke has gone, that’s not the case. They have started okay, and Chelsea have won the last three away in the Premier League.

“Of course, Bournemouth snatched victory at the jaws of defeat 10 days ago against Everton. I think this one’s to be Bournemouth 2 Chelsea 3 and an absolute feast of football.”

Chelsea will be without two key players for their trip to the Vitality Stadium, as Romeo Lavia and Malo Gusto will both be absent through injury.

Lavia had a torrid time with injuries during the 2023/24 campaign, playing just 32 minutes in the league after signing from Southampton for £58 million.

Bournemouth have not beaten Chelsea since 2019 and last season, this fixture ended in a 0-0 draw despite both teams accumulating 27 shots between them (13 for Bournemouth and 14 for Chelsea).
