A shock San Marino win against Liechtenstein in the first round of 2024/25 UEFA Nations League fixtures saw the minnows’ Twitter fan account admin finally celebrate a much-needed victory.

After 20 years and 140 games, La Serenissima created history as they won for the first time since April 2004. More significantly, it was the nation’s first ever competitive victory after 34 years of trying.

Naturally, this saw the fan account admin deliver a series of posts that had long been coming. They were able to electrify the social media platform thanks to Nicko Sensoli’s goal in a 1-0 win.

San Marino Win Against Liechtenstein Creates History

Not only did a San Marino win send shockwaves through the world, they are also top of their UEFA Nations League group. Granted, only one game has been played and rivals Gibraltar are yet to feature.

However, try telling that to the admin. The gifted story teller really captured the key moments of the match and for a while, it looked like it would be the same story for San Marino.

A bright start was almost ruined when the visitors had the ball in the back of the net.  The referee came to the rescue when the goal was ruled out for offside.

Despite the famous victory, the European minnows are still the lowest ranked team by FIFA. Nonetheless, try telling that to the fan account admin.

The San Marino Twitter admin uses the handle @SanMarino_FA and has approximately 173k followers on the platform, now known as X.

During the match on September 5, their posts accumulated a staggering 915,176 likes and generated approximately 40 million views.

A range of hilarious and significant posts helped describe the narrative and provide up-to-date analysis of the goings on at the San Marino Stadium in Serravalle.

A total of 914 people were in attendance to see history created. However, the San Marino fan account is always the best source of fun and information.
