How Long Can Manchester City Expect To Be Without Rodri For After Spaniard Suffers Knee Injury In Arsenal Draw?
The latest Rodri injury update indicates the Manchester City star is likely to be set for an extended spell on the sidelines after a freak incident in the draw with Arsenal.
Rodri collided with Kai Havertz in the opening seconds but wasn’t affected by the coming together. However, after jostling with Thomas Partey at a corner, the Spaniard went down clutching his knee in agony.
There was minimal contact between the two but it didn’t stop the Ballon d’Or contender being subbed off. Mateo Kovacic filled the void.
City medics treated the 28-year-old on the pitch for an extended period of time. Therefore, the severity of the knee injury appears very serious.
Rodri Injury Update Doesn’t Bode Well For Manchester City
Manchester City‘s midfield has taken a huge hit in the last few days. Kevin de Bruyne was the first to fall victim after suffering a groin strain in the UEFA Champions League draw with Inter.
Now, the latest Rodri injury update really doesn’t bode well for the champions. As good as De Bruyne is, City often finds replacements in the shape of Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku and Savinho.
However, anchorman and defensive stalwart Rodri is not as easily replaced. In fact, there aren’t many in world football who come close to the Spaniard in terms of footballing ability.

Pep Guardiola Unsure On Severity Of Rodri Injury
Speaking about the Rodri injury update after the frantic 2-2 draw with Arsenal, Pep Guardiola admitted he didn’t know how severe the Manchester City star’s condition is.
“I don’t know yet, I didn’t ask the doctors. Rodri is strong. He leaves the pitch in this action because he felt something, otherwise Rodri stays there.
“He’s the best holding midfielder in the world, he is a potential Ballon d’Or winner, I would love for him to win.
“But it happened in the first minutes. These games with Arsenal are like that and we have to handle it. We did it. We did really good things,” Guardiola explained.
The Cityzens are back in action on September 24 as they face EFL Championship side Watford in the Carabao Cup at the Etihad Stadium. The best football betting sites in the UK price City at 17/2 to win 4-0.
