Andrew found well-backed (85-40 from 7-2) Fontwell winner LORD OF CHESHIRE on Friday and has four stats-based selections on Saturday, October 5th…

CURRAGH 2.50

MILE END (system – Expert Eye, last time out winner, recent run)

Progeny of the sire Expert Eye often back up a win, with 25 of the 101 qualifiers scoring. We’d have made a loss of £11.06 to a £1 level stake at SP by backing them blind but that becomes a profit of £26.88 had we only sided with those who were returned to the track within a fortnight of their win (thanks to 14 winners from 27 bets). MILE END fits the bill after her 18-1 Bellewstown victory earlier this week and looks good value to follow up.

NEWAMRKET 3.50

NAKEEB (system – Richard Hannon, Night Of Thunder progeny, 2yo debut)

Night Of Thunder caused a 40-1 shock for the Hannon yard in the 2000 Guineas back in 2014 and is now a leading sire. Richard Hannon has only trained 12 of the sire’s offspring and four of those scored on their juvenile debuts for a profit of £32.67 to a £1 level stake at SP. That’s a very small sample size but the colts were four from nine (+£35.67) it offers encouragement where 230,000gns Shadwell newcomer NAKEEB is concerned, and he could be worth chancing at a big price (33-1 best at the time of writing).

WOLVERHAMPTON 4.50

GLENRIDDING (system – Daniel & Claire Kubler, nurseries)

Since the beginning of 2018, the Kubler yard is eight from 28 in nurseries for a profit of £29.58 to a £1 level stake at SP. GLENRIDDING contributed with a 100-30 victory at Yarmouth last time – his first run in a handicap and first since gelded – and can follow up.

SOUTHWELL 5.45

DREAM SHOW (system – Antony Brittain, first-time visor)

In the past four years in-form Antony Brittain has a four from 15 record with his first-time visored runners in all-weather handicaps for a profit of £40.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. Five of the beaten horses ran second or third and an each-way bet on outsider DREAM SHOW could pay dividends in this 7f handicap.
