Another day, another winner for Andrew on Friday thanks to 11-2 Newmarket scorer THE LOST KING. He has four selections on Saturday, August 24th…

GOODWOOD 1.30

SERVING WITH STYLE (system – Karl Burke, restricted novice stakes, turf, not debut)

Karl Burke does well with experienced runners in restricted novice company on turf, scoring 27 of the 79 qualifiers (34.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £97.18 to a £1 level stake at SP. SERVING WITH STYLE, successful in a fillies’ maiden at Carlisle on last month’s debut, is taken to maintain her 100% record now the rain has come in her favour.

CURRAGH 1.45

STORM PIECE (system – Night Of Thunder 2yos on turf, 0-2 previous runs)

Juvenile progeny of Night Of Thunder have a cracking record on turf in their early runs, with those who’d had two or fewer outings (including debutants) landing 75 of their 356 starts (21.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £81.53 to a £1 level stake at SP. The Ger Lyons-trained STORM PIECE looks well drawn in stall 2 for this 7f newcomers maiden and can make a winning start to his career.

GOODWOOD 2.05

TROIA (system – Ed Walker, second-time out 2yos)

This year, in-form Ed Walker has a phenomenal record with his second-time juvenile starts, scoring with seven of the ten qualifiers for a huge profit of £50.53 to a £1 level stake at SP (+505% on turnover). The beaten horses ran second (4-1), fourth (28-1) and fifth (18-1). TROIA was a rare debut winner for the yard at Newbury last month and while her breeding suggests that the forecast rain won’t be ideal for her, she’s put up as a selection in the hope/expectation that she’ll be withdrawn if the ground is deemed unsuitable.

CARTMEL 2.50

MOJO EGO (system – Jimmy Moffatt, stable switchers)

Jimmy Moffatt does well at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other trainers, scoring with 15 of the 61 qualifiers since the beginning of 2015 for a profit of £120.50 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 5.52, A/E = 2.72). MOJO EGO, ex-Harry Derham, could be worth a speculative interest on his debut for new connections.
