UK-based Premier League fans who are planning to follow their team in America this summer will have to fork out almost £4,000.

That’s according to data collected by SportsCasting, who crunched the numbers of all ten sides flying stateside in July.

With half of England’s elite playing in the Land of Opportunity, coupled with the cost of living crisis, the astronomical sum will mean many are unable to witness their favourite stars this summer.

Key Data Takeaways

  • Average cost to watch pre-season in the USA is £3,880.80
  • Chelsea are the most expensive team to follow in July and August
  • Estimated price to watch a single Premier League game on the East Coast is £1,489

USA Tour Will Set Back Fans An Average Of Almost £4,000

The figures provided are the cheapest that were available at the time of publication. Thus giving fans the best options.

The average cost of £3,380.80 includes return flights, hotel stays as well as the cost of internal flights and/or public transport fees.

However, the Premier League USA tour doesn’t come cheap for those looking to follow their favourite club across the pond this summer. Many are priced out of the trip.

Premier League USA Tour: Chelsea The Most Costly To Watch

With five games penciled in, the most of any of the ten clubs, Chelsea are the most expensive team to follow on the Premier League USA tour.

The Blues will feature in California, Indiana, Georgia, Ohio and North Carolina. Therefore, setting UK-based fans back an approximate amount of £7,278.

Owner Todd Boehly is certainly trying his upmost to increase the club’s reach in America. However, UK-based supporters are being priced out of following the Blues stateside.

Nonetheless, the west Londoners will be featuring on four fronts domestically this season. Fans will have plenty of opportunities to support the club throughout the 2024/25 campaign.

Potential Cost To Watch A Premier League Game On The East Coast

Using the data and figures collected to watch teams in America this summer, we can estimate the cost of watching a Premier League game in the Land of Opportunity.

Over the last few years, talks have emerged about the possibility of playing one league game across the pond. Perhaps using the success of NFL games in London as a backbone.

We used the East Coast as an example. Mainly owing to the fact it’s the least distance to travel from the UK.

The estimated cost is approximately £1,489. Naturally, that includes return flights booked a month in advance as well as three nights accommodation and public transport estimates.
