Premier League Player of the Month

Eight Premier League stars have been named on the shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Month award for September, with Liverpool duo Luis Diaz and Ryan Gravenberch among the nominees.

September was another month to remember in the Premier League, with title-chasing Manchester City and Arsenal playing out a 1-1 draw at the Etihad, but it’s Arne Slot’s Liverpool that ends the month at the top of the pile.

The Reds won three out of their four fixtures throughout the month, suffering defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest, and ever-present pair Luis Diaz and Ryan Gravenberch have been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for their efforts.

Diaz netted a total of four league goals across four appearances in September, two against Manchester United and two against Bournemouth, while Gravenberch played every single minute for his side and impressed massively in midfield.

Also nominated is Arsenal defender Gabriel, who scored two vital goals for Mikel Arteta’s side. The Brazilian headed home the winner in the north London derby away at Tottenham and netted again in the 2-2 draw against City a week later.

Chelsea’s four-goal hero against Brighton Cole Palmer is also named on the shortlist after recording five goals and an assist in four appearances, and so is Ollie Watkins thanks to his four goals and one assist in three matches for Aston Villa.

Harvey Barnes of Newcastle, Dwight McNeil of Everton and Raul Jimenez of Fulham have also received nominations after scoring three goals apiece throughout the month of September.

Fans have until 12:00 BST on Monday, 7 October, to register their vote from the following shortlist, with the public vote being combined with votes from a panel of football experts to determine the winner of the award.
