The Magpies have recorded two wins and a draw in the league thus far, as well as a penalty shootout win in the Carabao Cup, with their latest triumph impressively coming against Tottenham prior to the international window.

Both Callum Wilson and Joe Willock missed out on that one with what was believed to be short-term injuries, while question marks have also risen regarding the fitness of Bruno Guimaraes after he was subbed off at half-time in Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Paraguay.

Newcastle boss Howe revealed the latest on the trio on Friday afternoon and also confirmed that Emil Krafth, who has started the last three matches in lieu of the suspended Fabian Schar, has also been nursing an injury.
