Pound-for-pound boxing superstar Naoya Inoue has signed a multi-million pound deal with Riyadh Season. The elite Japanese boxer has reportedly signed a £15 million deal with His Excellency Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season going forward from his next fight onwards.

Naoya Inoue Signs Deal With Riyadh Season

Naoya Inoue is widely regarded as one of the best boxers in the world. Not only is he a superstar in his home country of Japan, but he is now viewed as one of the biggest phenomenon’s in the sport globally.

Since the dawn of the four-belt era, Inoue is just one of three men who have become undisputed champion in multiple weight divisions. Now, it seems Riyadh Season and His Excellency Turki Alalshikh are rewarding that success.

‘Monster’ has capitalised on the recent surge of boxing in Saudi Arabia and the influx of money from the state’s investment into the sport. Thus, Naoya Inoue’s deal with Riyadh Season and Turki Alalshikh is an extremely lucrative one.

It has been reported by Yahoo Sports Japan that Inoue’s new Riyadh Season deal is worth around £15 million. That equates to ¥3billion in Japanese currency, making the 31-year-old one of the richest sportsmen in history from the country of Japan.

As part of Inoue’s deal with Riyadh Season, you would think he would be required to fight in Saudi Arabia at least once, if not  numerous times. However, that isn’t the case. The deal between Riyadh Season, Turki Alalshikh and Naoya Inoue does not require the undisputed super-bantamweight champion to compete in Saudi Arabia at all.

Inoue Will Be An ‘Important Ambassador For Saudi Arabia and Riyadh Season’ – Turki Alalshikh

Naoya Inoue’s next fight sees the undefeated boxing king take on Sam Goodman in Tokyo on Christmas Eve. After that, it remains to be seen who Inoue fights after that, where it will be and indeed when. ‘Monster’ himself has said that he is open to fighting in Saudi Arabia, with a potential bout in America also a possibility.

Inoue’s 2025 plan is undecided for now, but the undisputed 122-pound king is open to various options which includes fighting in Japan, America and Saudi:

“I think it’s all about timing. This year’s fight [against Goodman] has been decided. I don’t know what will happen next year. If I can fight in Saudi Arabia, I’ll just live up to those expectations. I think I’ll just perform the way I do in Japan,” Inoue told Yahoo Sports Japan.

His Excellency Turki Alalshikh had made it no secret that he wants to welcome Inoue to Saudi Arabia for a fight in Riyadh. Not only that, but the Saudi boxing kingpin hopes the signing of Inoue to Riyadh Season will benefit all parties:

“Inoue is the best and strongest boxer of all time. He has a great interest in Japan and the Japanese market. I hope he will be a good and important ambassador for Saudi Arabia and Riyadh Season.”

For now, the most important thing for Naoya Inoue is to do his job on Christmas Eve. Should he win that fight, then what comes in 2025 could mark a turning point for boxing. One of the sport’s biggest superstars has made the jump to Riyadh Season, and many other elite fighters could follow next year.
