Jake Paul - Boxing - Most Followed Boxers

Despite still not being regarded as a legitimate fighter, Jake Paul is the most popular professional boxer in the world based off Instagram followers. Join us as we examine the Top 25 most followed boxers in the world on Instagram.

Note that this list doesn’t include any fighter who has officially retired. This includes the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Wladimir Klitschko and Gennadiy Golovkin to name but a few. It also doesn’t include the likes of KSI or Logan Paul.

Jake Paul Boasts Over 26 Million Instagram Followers

When it comes to popularity amongst professional boxers, it may come as a shock to some people that Jake Paul is the greatest of them all. Despite many people and boxing fans not fully regarding ‘The Problem Child’ as a legitimate fighter, he is officially the most followed boxer in the world on Instagram.

The YouTube star turned boxer boasts a grand total of 26.9 million followers on his Instagram account @jakepaul. This is around eight million more than the second most popular boxer in the world in Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Due to his divisive character and loud mouth, it comes as no surprise whatsoever to learn that Jake Paul tops the list of the most followed UFC fighters worldwide. He had a huge following before he crossed over into the boxing world, which seems to have converted to an even bigger following inside the ring.

A lot of boxing fan may even tune in to watch Paul fights or follow him on social media, hoping that he will get beaten. He has lost once in the boxing ring to Tommy Fury, but that is his only defeat to date. He is a global superstar and is one of the most recognisable names in the fight game, whether you like it or not.

Should the former Disney channel star continue to win inside the ring and produce viral moments, his popularity could grow even further. You might even find Jake Paul working with the likes of His Excellency Turki Alalshikh in the coming years, if he continues to progress in the ring.

‘Canelo’, Anthony Joshua & Ryan Garcia Amongst Most Followed Boxers Globally

Jake Paul is of course head and shoulders above any of his contemporaries when it comes to popularity amongst professional boxers. Paul currently boasts roughly 8 million more followers than the second most followed boxer that is the great ‘Canelo‘.

The fighting pride of Mexico is the second most followed boxer on Instagram, boasting 19 million followers. ‘Canelo‘ is arguably the biggest star in the sport of boxing in terms of revenue and selling pay-per-views, not to mention his incredible talents and skills inside the ropes.

Alvarez’s popularity and skills inside the ring clearly translate to followers on social media. He is without a doubt still the most recognisable name in boxing, which is backed up as the second most followed boxer in the world right now.

Just behind ‘Canelo‘ in popularity on Instagram is former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. ‘AJ’ boasts 16.9 million Instagram followers, making him the single biggest UK boxing star by quite some distance. The fact he is an elite heavyweight certainly also helps his reputation and following.

Next on the list of the most followed boxers in the world is none other than Ryan Garcia. The divisive ‘King Ry’ is the fourth and final professional boxer who boasts over 10 million Instagram followers. His number of 12.1 million followers will continue to grow in the coming years, and could even overtake the likes of Joshua very soon.

Some other huge names in the boxing universe have also make it into the Top 10 most followed boxers on Instagram as of today. In fact, the entire Top 25 list (see below) is a ‘who’s who’ of big names and stars from the sport.

None more so than Gervonta Davis, who makes up the Top 5 most popular boxers in the world based on Instagram followers. ‘Tank’ is a two-weight world champion as well as being undefeated right now, and comes in as the fifth most popular boxer on Instagram as of today with 7.5 million followers.

Gervonta Davis’ popularity will continue to grow at a rapid rate, given how he has performed lately inside the ring. Also making the Top 10 most followed boxers on Instagram is both Tyson Fury and his half-brother Tommy Fury. ‘The Gypsy King’ boasts 6.9 million followers, whilst Tommy himself is just behind him with 5.3m.

Gilberto Ramirez is another name that is extremely popular amongst boxing fans right now, which seemingly also translates into a huge social media following. ‘Zurdo’ boasts 3.8 million Instagram followers as of today, which cements his as the eighth most followed boxer right now.

Rising British boxing star Ben Whittaker also makes the Top 10 with 3.1 million Instagram followers. So to does undisputed heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk, who boasts 3 million Instagram followers. That makes up the Top 10 most followed boxers in the world right now.

Below is a full list of the Top 25 most popular boxers according to their Instagram following. This will undoubtedly change a lot over the next few months and years, but these numbers are correct as of today. Currently the Top 25 consists of 24 male fighters and just one female boxer.
