Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount will miss ‘a few games’ after suffering a muscle injury against Brighton on GW2 of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

The Red Devils man was replaced at half-time in the 2-1 defeat at the Amex Stadium after reporting discomfort to United’s medical team.

Mount will definitely miss the clash with rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on September 1. Furthermore, he will almost certainly be ruled out for the trip to Southampton and Carabao Cup tie against Barnsley.

Mason Mount Injury: Midfielder Will Miss Most Of September

Writing on Instagram, Mount explained his disappointment at suffering another injury set back. Last season, he was restricted to just 20 appearances in all competitions.

“I’ve had it checked and it looks like I’ll be out for a few games. Leading up to and during pre-season, I worked hard to get my fitness back to where it needs to be and I felt re-energised, sharp and ready.

“I wanted you to hear it directly from me how frustrated I am, as I expect you are too. I will do everything possible to be back in the best shape and help the team,” he added.

The latest Mason Mount injury news will come as a huge blow to boss Erik ten Hag. At the time of writing, the Englishman is the sixth Red Devils star to be ruled out through injury.

Subsequently, more questions will likely arise regarding the plethora of absentees which hampered United throughout the 2023/24 campaign.

Currently, no side in England’s elite has as many injuries as the Red Devils. Yeny Loro is still a few months away from making his debut.

Tyrell Malacia is also expected to be out for the next 6-8 weeks. However, the likes of Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof and Rasmus Hojlund should return by mid-September.
