Premier League champions Manchester City have released an Oasis-themed ‘Definitely City’ kit, which will be used in select matches in the Champions League this season.

Manchester City Unveil Oasis-Themed Kit

In collaboration with Noel Gallagher, Manchester City and Puma have confirmed the release of an Oasis-themed fourth kit, which will be used in select Champions League matches throughout the season to commemorate the band’s 30th anniversary.

Branded the ‘Definitely City’ kit, a play on Oasis’ ‘Definitely Maybe’ debut album from 1994, the kit was co-designed by Gallagher, who is, of course, a lifelong Manchester City fan, and is modelled by the music legend, as well as Kyle Walker, Jess Park, Mateo Kovacic, Ederson, and Pep Guardiola.

City say the design features a ‘bold aesthetic that echoes the iconic imagery of ‘Definitely Maybe’, with a light straw base colour, bold blue side panels, and sleeves with subtle poppy pink detailing on the cuffs and panels of the jersey.

The kit is part of a larger ‘Definitely City’ collection, which includes a track jacket and pants, overshirt, bomber jacket, tee, polo, retro jersey, and drill top, all inspired by the iconic Oasis album and adorned with the Cityzens badge.

City have confirmed that the kit will make its debut in their opening tie of the 2024/25 Champions League campaign when they take on Serie A giants Inter at the Etihad Stadium next Wednesday.

Gallagher: “I Was Into City Before I Knew What Music Was”

Accompanying City’s press release, Gallagher spoke on his involvement with the kit being created, stating that he was into City before he even knew what music was.

“I loved City before anything, I was into City before I was into music, I was into City before I knew what music was.

“Definitely Maybe is what set us on our way, the record lasting as long, you can’t predict that kind of thing. It’s a great working class, Mancunian record – it’s real.

“When PUMA approached us at one of the games about designing a kit it took about five seconds to agree to it. It’s the same colour palette as the cover of Definitely Maybe: it’s unique but it’s definitely striking, and I think it looks great.

“When you see people representing your Club, it’s important that they look good.”
