The teenage darts sensation was the favourite to win the competition on several UK betting sites, however, his performance in Dortmund left much to be desired.
Gliding got off to a superb start taking a 2-0 lead and throwing seven perfect darts in the process, putting Littler on the ropes from the get-go.
Littler did manage to pull the match back, as the final match began with Gliding having a 5-4 leg advantage as Gliding went on to win 6-4.
The 17-year-old has been on a meteoric rise in the sport of darts, winning the PDC Premier League on his debut and the World Series of Darts Finals 2024.
He has also won the Bahrain Darts Masters, the Poland Darts Masters, Austrian Darts Masters and Belgian Darts Masters.
This has seen his stardom rise tremendously in 2024, obtaining 1.3 million followers on Instagram (the most out of any darts player) and becoming one of the most renowned British sportsman.
At just 16-years-old, Littler reached the PDC World Championship final on his debut in a major competition – losing 704 to Luke Humphries.
Littler and Humphries faced off just at the Czech Darts Open, with the 17-year-old being left disgusted after losing to Humphries in the semi-finals.
The duo are ranked 1st and 2nd in the overall PDC World Series ranking, with Littler taking top spot and Humphries ranking just behind.
Littler is expected to return at the Player Championships in Leicester on October 30th and 31st where he will be hoping to improve on his display against Andrew Gliding.
However, some fans have speculated about Littler’s current devotion to darts, as he has appeared in several streams with a popular EA FC 25 Pro Clubs side on Twitch.
