Liverpool Injury Elliott

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has suffered a foot injury while away on international duty, and the 21-year-old now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines until late October.

Arne Slot and his Liverpool side return to Premier League action this weekend when they take on Nottingham Forest in the East Midlands, but it’s bad news for Reds fans heading into the tie as Harvey Elliott has been ruled out with a foot injury.

The 21-year-old midfielder has managed just one appearance for Liverpool in the league this term, turning out as a late substitute in the 2-0 win over Brentford at the end of August, but he now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines until late October after suffering a broken foot.

Elliott reportedly sustained the injury in training while away on international duty with England U21s, leaving him condemned to the Reds’ injury list alongside Curtis Jones, Federico Chiesa, and Alexis Mac Allister.

Jones has missed the last two Premier League matches due to fitness concerns, and Mac Allister was withdrawn from Argentina’s World Cup qualifier last week due to an adductor injury, however the pair could return in time for this weekend’s trip to the City Ground.

Chiesa, meanwhile, was not selected to represent Italy over the international window, and Slot has reportedly given him extra time to settle in on Merseyside, and he won’t be rushed into action.

Elliott’s injury comes at a particularly tough time for Liverpool, as they face a busy period over the next three-and-a-half weeks, where they’ll play seven matches across the Premier League, Champions League, and Carabao Cup.

Despite the busy schedule ahead, Mohamed Salah and co. will be hoping to maintain their perfect start to the 2024/25 season, with the Reds currently sitting at a lofty second place in the English top flight table, boasting three wins from three without conceding a single goal.
