Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois - Boxing

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed in an exclusive interview with talkSPORT that talks are now underway for a potential Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois rematch.

Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois Rematch Talks Underway

In a recent interview with talkSPORT, promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois rematch looks the most likely option at this moment in time for both fighters.

Hearn revealed that His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, the Saudi boxing chief, has expressed his desire to stage the Joshua vs Dubois rematch, if both fighters want it.

The Matchroom Boxing kingpin also revealed in the same interview with Spencer Oliver that Dubois and his promoter Frank Warren have already met with His Excellency to discuss what could be next for the IBF World Heavyweight Champion.

Hearn did reveal that his man Anthony Joshua desperately wants the rematch, with Daniel Dubois also seemingly up for the rematch too. The Joshua vs Dubois rematch certainly generates the most money for both fighters, but is also the fight that makes total sense next.

“We have already agreed our terms, we have the option to rematch with Dubois. Our meetings with His Excellency, he wants the rematch. AJ will always want the rematch,” said the Matchroom Boxing CEO.

“Daniel wants the rematch too it’s the biggest fight for him and they will fancy it. It is a case of going away and talking about, do we go straight into the rematch? And when will it be?” added Hearn.

Joshua vs Dubois Rematch Set For 2025?

Although it looks likely the rematch between Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua could take place next, it won’t be before the end of the year or even early next year.

Eddie Hearn has said that his man will need a few more weeks to recharge the batteries as AJ “needs his rest and time to recover.”

Thus, it looks likely that boxing fans could witness the Joshua vs Dubois rematch a few months in to 2025. Depending on what happens in the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk rematch in December could also have a bearing on what happens next regarding Dubois, and Joshua too of course.

Given the manner in which Daniel Dubois won the first on September 21st at Wembley Stadium, he would likely go into a rematch with Joshua as the favourite with the best boxing betting sites in the UK.

Whether or not Dubois’ next fight is against ‘AJ’, or if Joshua’s next fight is indeed against Dubois remains to be seen. However, it certainly still has huge appeal and is still one of the best fights to make in the heavyweight division.
