Carragher: United Ownership Have Left Ten Hag ‘Out To Dry’

The Manchester United boss is facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford following yet another disappointing start to the season.

With the club currently languishing in 14th place in the Premier League, many believe that the Dutchman’s time in charge could be coming to an end.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has expressed sympathy for Ten Hag, suggesting that he has been “hung out to dry” by the club’s ownership.

In the summer, it was revealed that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS group had spoken to several other managers before ultimately deciding to keep Ten Hag in place.

“No manager, or anyone in employment, would want his bosses publicly speaking to lots of different people within the game,” Carragher said on Sky Sports. “So it’s going to be a tough one to see out the season.”

Van Nistelrooy Emerges as Potential Interim Manager

The decision to retain Ten Hag was made by Ratcliffe and INEOS sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford, with football experts Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth not officially appointed at that stage.

One potential replacement for Ten Hag is current assistant coach and United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has been linked with an interim role should the current manager be sacked.

Van Nistelrooy has recent experience in management, having won the KNVB Cup in his first season in charge of PSV Eindhoven.

As the pressure mounts on Ten Hag, the future of Manchester United remains uncertain. The club’s executive team will meet on Tuesday to discuss the situation, and a decision on the manager’s future could be imminent.
