Jai Opetaia - Boxing 1

Jai Opetaia is widely regarded as the single best cruiserweight boxer in the world. Given his immense talents in the ring, here at SportsCasting we have decided to take a look at Opetaia’s net worth, career earnings, biggest purses and endorsements from boxing.

Jai Opetaia Net Worth

Jai Opetaia was last seen in action on the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk undercard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia back in May 2024. Opetaia was a slight favourite with the best UK bookmakers to defeat Mairis Briedis in their world title rematch, which he did with a routine unanimous decision victory.

2025 could be the best year of Jai Opetaia’s career to date. Unifications against the likes of Chris Billam-Smith, ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez or Noel Mikaelian. Whatever Opetaia does next, he will likely go into the fight as the overriding favourite with the best boxing betting sites in the UK regardless of the opponent.

As of today, Jai Opetaia’s net worth is said to be estimated at £2 million according to All Famous Birthday. The Australian cruiserweight boxer has seen a huge rise in his net worth over the past few of years, mainly due to his bouts with Mairis Briedis, Jordan Thompson and Ellis Zorro in Saudi Arabia.

He has had some other big purses throughout his career too of course, but has been earning extremely lucratively more recently. This is partly down to the fact his last two fights have been put on by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh on his huge Riyadh Season cards. More on his career earnings later.

Opetaia’s net worth is almost entirely down to his success inside the boxing ring. Some of Opetaia’s sponsors will also help enhance his net worth going forward. He has various different sponsorship deals to his name which we will look into further in this article.

Jai Opetaia Career Earnings & Biggest Purses

Jai Opetaia has been a professional boxer since he made his debut back in August 2015. Since then, Opetaia has had 24 more professional bouts, earning more money as his career has progressed.

The 29-year-old Australian boxing superstar has seemingly earned far more money since stepping up to world level back in 2022. Opetaia beat Mairis Briedis as a big underdog to become champion, defying his odds and putting the world on notice as to just how good he really is.

Opetaia reportedly took home somewhere in the region of £500k for the first Briedis fight, also becoming the IBF World Cruiserweight & Ring Magazine Champion in the process.

This is reportedly the third largest purse of his career to date, behind his earnings for the ‘Day Of Reckoning’ bout with Ellis Zorro in Saudi Arabia at the back end of 2023 on the Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin.

His biggest career purse came last time out in the Briedis rematch on the Fury vs Usyk undercard. The Aussie reportedly earned somewhere in the region of £650,000 for the fight, which he won against the Latvian via unanimous decision.

It is estimated that Jai Opetaia has earned somewhere in the region of £3.5 million in his boxing career to date. This figure will catapult in the coming years, as the Aussie looks to fight in huge unification bouts and the biggest fights available to him at cruiserweight.

Jai Opetaia Endorsement Deals

Jai Opetaia makes the majority of his money from competing in the sport of boxing. He is the single best cruiserweight fighter on the planet at just 29-years-old, and looks to continue his rise and dominate the cruiserweight division for years to come. A move to heavyweight in a few years also seems likely for the undefeated fighter.

In terms of sponsorship, not much is known about Jai Opetaia and his endorsement deals. He reportedly has endorsement deals with brands such as Adidas, Under Armour, DAZN and Tasman Fighters. Not much else is known about Opetaia and his sponsorships.

Matchroom boxing kingpin Eddie Hearn has revealed exciting plans for Jai Opetaia going forward. As the best cruiserweight in the world, Hearn has promised Opetaia some huge nights in the future, whether that be in England, Saudi Arabia, America or even back home down under.

It is unknown exactly what Opetaia earns through his various sponsors, but Adidas are certainly the biggest of his endorsers. Additional funds from his sponsors will help Opetaia pay for his training camps away from home in Australia. He is of course one of the stars on the Matchroom Boxing roster, so likely earns an endorsement fee from them too.
