Holly Shand’s Best Arsenal Triple-Up Advice for FPL Gameweek 6 Ahead Of Gunners’ Favourable Run of Fixtures
Holly Shand provides her best Arsenal triple-up advice for FPL Gameweek 6, ahead of a favourable run of fixtures for the Gunners.
Arsenal are the team to target going into FPL Gameweek 6, with three home games in their next four, including promoted Leicester City and Southampton up next.
I’m going to be tripling up on wildcard this week and you should be looking to use free transfers to build up to at least two of their players. So who are the top targets?
FPL Gameweek 6 Tips: Arsenal Triple-Up
Bukayo Saka (£10.0m)
Bukayo Saka is the key target from the Gunners attack as the talisman of the team. Along with Erling Haaland, he is the only player to deliver an attacking return in each of the opening five gameweeks, with one goal and five assists in this time. This makes him one of the most consistent performers in the game.
The injury to Martin Odegaard means that Bukayo Saka has an even larger share in Arsenal’s set pieces, plus he’s also on penalties. His routes to points are plentiful, hitting double digits for goals and assists in each of his last three seasons. He has seven shots on target and 12 key passes made so far.
Odegaard’s absence does weaken their attack to some degree, plus the suspension for Leandro Trossard this week casts doubt on Kai Havertz’s position, and so I would avoid doubling up on their attacking players. We could see Gabriel Jesus preferred in the number nine role for these easier games and Havertz deeper.
Gabriel (£6.1m)
Gabriel sits as the most popular defender to transfer in for FPL Gameweek 6, largely helped by his goals in consecutive games. He has now scored 15 goals in around four Premier League seasons for the Gunners, justifying his price tag, which has now risen by £0.1 million.
His underlying numbers from an attacking sense are equally as impressive, with three big chances on goal the most of any defender. He is also among the top ten defenders for shots this season with five and is always a threat from set pieces, assisted by the dead ball deliveries provided by Bukayo Saka.
Arsenal were the best defence in the league last season, keeping 17 clean sheets, and they already look on track to replicate that feat, with three clean sheets from their opening five games and just the three goals conceded in this time. It’s hard to see them conceding in their next three fixtures.
David Raya (£5.6m)
The strength of these upcoming fixtures means that a double up on the Gunners defence should prove fruitful, with goalkeeper David Raya the highest scoring goalkeeper in the game so far this season. He ranks third for saves with 23 and first for bonus points with six, showcasing his routes to points.
Despite rising in price already this week, he remains a cheaper route into the Arsenal backline than all of their defenders. We saw Ben White benched for the trip to Manchester City, while there’s competition for places at left back and William Saliba offers lower FPL scoring opportunities from a higher price tag.
We saw managers who backed the Arsenal defensive double up early last season richly rewarded. Most FPL managers will own an Arsenal defender for Gameweek 6, meaning that you’ll need two in your squad to stay ahead of the curve and reap green arrows from any clean sheets in this upcoming period.
