Harry Kane Played Golf With Tiger Woods When On A Romantic Holiday With His Wife
Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has lifted the lid on a ‘Bizarre’ round of golf he ended up playing with former world number one Tiger Woods when on holiday in the Caribbean with his wife.
Harry Kane Played Golf With Tiger Woods When On Holiday
It’s no secret that England football captain Harry Kane is partial to the odd game of golf when he’s not banging in the goals for club and country – he currently has a handicap in the region of 3.7.
However, it’s not everyday Kane is hitting golf balls with the 15-time Major winner Tiger Woods.
Well, this is exactly what happened in a bizarre story that Harry Kane has revealed this week – when he ended up playing golf with Tiger Woods in the Caribbean, after the three-time Open Champion was recovering from injury.
All this happened when Harry Kane was in the Bahamas in 2017 – on a romantic holiday with his wife Kate – and the pro at the nearby course mentioned a certain Tiger Woods was in town.
This pro, which Kane knew, then added that he was in fact playing with Tiger Woods later that afternoon – and did the footballer want to join them?
It goes without saying that if anyone vaguely interested in golf was offered to play a round with Tiger Woods – most would say ‘yes’ there and then.
The ‘Harry Kane Tiger Woods’ Golf Game Almost DIDN’T Happen – Despite The Invite
But, in a strange twist to the Tiger Woods offer – Kane actually almost missed out on the chance.
This was because Kane admits when asked if he wanted to play with the former world number one, he didn’t want to seem too keen.
When asked by the golf pro Kane said he shouted back “Yeah, just give me a shout” – in an almost throwaway reply.
And added “Just give me a text when you’re playing”.
However, Kane went onto say that he then went to the gym and was lunching with his wife and friends in their rented house, which had no signal.
“So I’m sitting there at lunch thinking, ‘I hope he’s not messaging me,’ after a couple hours of lunch, I’m getting out and walking to our house, I get three or four text messages coming through at once. Said Kane
“It’s the golf pro saying, ‘Tiger said come play the back nine with us,’ and this was like an hour ago.”
Kane Birdies The Par 5 15th Hole To Beat Woods
The good news though is that Kane managed to hot-foot over to the course to catch up with Woods and the pro on the 15th tee – meaning he could play the last four holes with the multiple major champ.
Despite rushing to the tee and remembering he was nervous, Kane also revealed that his competitive sports nature kicked in and having got his drive away managed to birdie the small par 5 15th – beating Woods on that hole.

Kane Started Playing Golf At 14 Years-old
Harry Kane also explained how his love for golf started at just 14 years-old when one summer he become obsessed on getting his handicap down.
Adding that he had six weeks off one summer with no football tournaments and literally played golf every day.
Since then, he’s been working on his golf game each year, but also mentioned that he’s not been able to put in any scorecards in Germany – so said that he feels the last few years he’s not quite been as good on the course.
Kane also has a sponsorship deal with golf brand Reflo and in addition to finding it harder to play in Munich, the fact he’s also got four children also hasn’t helped.
“I’ve been around a four handicap for a while, but it’s hard to get lower when you don’t have the time to practise,” he said. “I’m playing maybe once a month or once every six weeks, and that can be frustrating. I’m someone who wants to improve at everything, so having a bad day on the course can be pretty demoralising.
“My game used to be all power. I would just smash the ball really far, but then I started working with someone to get more consistent. I was hitting it far, but sometimes it was all over the place.”
Fellow Bayern Munich man, Thomas Müller is also said to be ‘golf mad’ by Kane – with the two often seen out on the course.
