FPL Salah With His Top Three Differentials From Gameweek 5
See below the three Premier League players that FPL Salah says you should have on your gameweek 5 radars.
Jamie Vardy (£5.7m) Leicester City – 8.3% owned
The Leicester City and Premier League legend just can’t stop scoring. The 37-year-old now has 138 goals in the Premier League and he has already notched two in the first four games.
What’s also interesting is that he has played 90 minutes in his last two league games and with Patson Daka (£4.9m) still out injured he should carry on getting a fair amount of minutes.
The only other forward they have at the club at present is Odsonne Edouard (£5.4m) so they will be heavily relying on Vardy to provide the goals.
Leicester have done better than most would have thought – in the first four games they have two draws despite tough fixtures and they have scored five goals in the process too.
They now come against a struggling Everton team who sit rock bottom of the division, with four straight losses and having conceded the most goals (13).
They also have the second worst expected goals conceded (xGC; 8.3) too so this is a fixture the Foxes will be confident of winning.
They have a tough game against Arsenal in Gameweek 6 but from then on play Bournemouth (H), Southampton (a), Nottingham Forest (H) and Ipswich (a).
Vardy is looking super nailed to start right now and is his team’s talisman and penalty taker. Also, at only £5.7m he represents great value.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.9m) Everton – 2.8% owned
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had a good start to the season despite his team doing the opposite.
He has two goals and one assist in his first four games and more importantly he has been getting plenty of minutes and staying fit. His last few seasons have been plagued with injuries but when he is fit he can be a very good FPL asset.
He scored 13 goals in the 2019/20 season and 16 goals in 2020/21. Since then, he hasn’t managed to stay healthy for a full season.
He looks great at the moment and playing his best football for a long time. Everton aren’t the most prolific in front of goal but Calvert-Lewin is the main focal point of their attack and will score the majority of their goals if he’s on the pitch.
The Evertonian is also the first choice penalty taker. Sean Dyche’s side will be desperate for the win here and will see it as a must win game.
Both teams will fancy themselves which is why I think it will be a high scoring affair. Calvert-Lewin should get fair amount of chances here and his fixtures in the long run look nice too.
The Toffees next six read – Leicester (a), Crystal Palace (H), Newcastle (H), Ipswich (a), Fulham (H) and Southampton (a). I can see the 27-year-old doing really well over this run.
James Maddison (£7.5m) Spurs – 4.2% owned
The ex-Leicester man has had a fairly quiet start to the season but has been ticking along with two assists.
His underlying numbers have been good and suggest that more attacking returns on the horizon.
He has manged four shots in the box with an expected goals (xG) of 0.5 and has also created nine chances with an expected assists (xA) of 1.8 which is the third best amongst midfielders.
He has also taken 23 corners and five free kicks so is on a lot of set-pieces. Maddison is the type of player who has many avenues to points which is exactly what we want for an FPL asset.
Spurs have a nice fixture in Gameweek 5 as they welcome Brentford to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Ange Postecoglou’s team create plenty of chances with their gung-ho style of football and Maddison is their main play maker. He will no doubt get plenty of assists in this team and pick up goals too.
Spurs not only have a plum game this week, but their fixtures are pretty good over the next seven. After they take on the Bees they play Man United (a), Brighton (a), West Ham (H), Crystal Palace (a), Aston Villa (H) and Ipswich (H).
