FPL General returns for another round to offer up his Fantasy Premier League tips for Gameweek 5, and his three pieces of advice may raise a few eyebrows.

FPL General’s Fantasy Premier League Tips for Gameweek 5

I’m FPL General, and I’m back for another week with a handful of Fantasy Premier League tips alongside SportsCasting for you to consider ahead of Gameweek 5.

My FPL experience spans across 20 years, and I’ve achieved three Top 500 finishes throughout that time.

Wait Until the Last Possible Moment to Make Your Transfers

In the hyper-saturated media landscape that we find ourselves in, squad leaks are very much a common occurrence.

There really is no reason to be jumping the gun on transfers early in the week unless you’re worried about price changes, but these are also easy to track on social media.

For example, keeping tabs on Liverpool news would be very useful to determine the likelihood of Diogo Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold starting.

Meanwhile Chelsea play in the first match of the gameweek; a one-week punt on the likes of Christopher Nkunku or perhaps Noni Madueke is attractive to those wildcarding in Gameweek 5.

Don’t Give Up On Morgan Rodgers

Despite drawing blank for four gameweeks, Aston Villa’s man-of-the-moment Morgan Rodgers still he remains one of the best budget enablers.

His power, presence and positioning on the pitch puts him in a very likely category to be involved, whether it be scoring or assisting.

The youngster recorded three big chances in Gameweek 4 which is evidence of his commanding role, and he is worth holding onto in the hope for a points return this time around.
