Fenerbahce’s Most Expensive Player Does Not Make Manchester United’s Top 15 Ahead Of Europa League Clash
Fenerbahce’s most valuable player does not make the top 15 for Manchester United, as the Turkish side welcome Erik ten Hag’s men in the Europa League.
The Red Devils picked up a vital win in their most recent fixture, beating Brentford 2-1 at Old Trafford and ending a run of five matches without a win in all competitions.
Ten Hag has been bombarded with scrutiny and his time as Manchester United manager could come to an end before 2025.
Performances in Europe have been extremely underwhelming so far, picking up two points from the opening two matches against FC Twente and Porto.
In GW2 of the Europa League, United took a two-goal lead against Porto, before conceding three consecutive goals and Harry Maguire’s last-minute header rescued a point for the Red Devils.
As for their opponents on Thursday evening, results have been slightly better in Europe’s secondary competition, picking up four points form two games – beating Union SG and drawing to FC Twente.
However, Jose Mourinho’s side have struggled in the Turkish Super Lig, sitting in fourth place and eight points behind Galatasaray in first place.
Fenerbahce are looking to end a decade-long wait and become champions in Turkey once again, not winning the league since 2013/14.
Their focus for Fenerbahce will switch to European competition on Thursday, but beating Manchester United could be a difficult task – especially when focusing on the squad values of both sides.
Fenerbahce’s most expensive player does not make the top 15 for Erik ten Hag’s side, with former Red Devils loanee, and now Fenerbahce star, Sofyan Amrabat being valued at £18.3 million.
