Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 3

Hello FPL fans, my name is Pingreen, and I’m back to provide my favourite Fantasy Football tips for gameweek 3 and beyond for SportsCasting.

I finished 700th in the world in 22/23 and 1330th last year, so it’s very important you take my FPL advice seriously.

Congratulations if you used the Triple Captain chip on Erling Haaland last gameweek. Enjoy the points; I hope they make you happy.

Dear lord, what a sad little life. You ruined my weekend completely so you could have the points, and I hope now you can spend them on lessons in grace and decorum. Because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.

Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 3 – FPL Pingreen

Captain Pick – Erling Haaland – £15.0m

Fixture: West Ham (Away)

I promise Haaland won’t be my captain choice every week. But this week he is. With 4 goals already this campaign, the robot looks as oiled up as ever.

I’m backing him (or at least I would be if I owned him) to continue that strong start at the London Stadium this weekend.

I do also think Cole Palmer at home to Palace this week is a spicy pick if you’re looking for a differential captain, but I can’t write about him twice (spoiler alert).

Defender – Ethan Pinnock – £4.5m

Fixture: Southampton (Home)

At the time of writing, Quansah has now dropped all the way down to £4.3m. By next week, you might not even be able to transfer him out for Wout Faes.

But if you are looking for another budget defender and do have £4.5m in the bank, Brentford’s Ethan Pinnock is a great selection this week.

Does he have a lot of attacking threat? No, not really. But The Bees face Southampton this week, who have been absolutely toothless going forward (I should know, for some reason I doubled up on them…). Take the clean sheet and pray to the FPL heavens for some bonus points.

 Midfielder – Cole Palmer – £10.5m

Fixture: Crystal Palace (Home)

Never chase last week’s points.

If you transfer in Cole Palmer this week, you don’t get his 17-point haul he netted away to Wolves last weekend. That being said, I’d love to get him in my team right now.

Last week proved Palmer isn’t just a one-season wonder, and the Blues have one of the best fixture runs in the league with Palace, Bournemouth, West Ham, Brighton, and Nottingham Forest as their next 5 opponents. The only issue with the Chelsea midfielder is the steep £10.5m price tag.

Unless you left a hefty chunk of cash in the bank, it’s going to be difficult to move to him. But if you are one of those managers looking at an early wildcard, Palmer should certainly be one of the first names on your team sheet.

Striker – Evanilson – £6.0m

Fixture: Everton (Away)

A couple of small (way too small) sample sizes for you. Everton have given up 1.92 xG per 90 over the opening 2 games of the season, conceding 7 goals in the process.

Bournemouth’s new Brazilian striker Evanilson put up 1.03 xG in just 71 minutes during his debut against Newcastle last weekend.

With budget strikers Muniz and Adam Armstrong disappointing so far (don’t check my gameweek 1 striker pick), why not take a punt on the £6.0m forward, currently only owned by 0.3% of the game. Or just get Danny Welbeck, because apparently, he scores every week now.
