Eddie Hearn brings Matchroom Boxing to Philadelphia this weekend as world boxing superstars Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis and Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez feature. Read on to find out all you need to know about Saturday’s bumper card from the Wells Fargo Center.

Eddie Hearn Brings Matchroom Boxing To Philadelphia This Weekend

World championship boxing heads to Philadelphia this weekend, as Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing are in town. That’s right, Saturday 9th November sees two of the biggest stars in world boxing feature on the same card at the Wells Fargo Center.

Arguably the best 147-pound fighter in the world in Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis headlines in a rematch with Karen Chukhadzhian, defending his IBF World Welterweight Title for the first official time.

In the co-main event boxing fans are treated to seeing Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez, the 24-year-old future P4P star back in action. ‘Bam’ aims to defend his WBC World Super-Flyweight Title against the seasoned Pedro Guevara, looking to further solidify himself as one of the best fighters in the entire sport.

Both men head into their respective bouts as heavy favourites with the best boxing betting sites in the UK. Promoter Eddie Hearn will too be expecting both of his star American fighters to win, setting up what could be a huge 2025 for both men.

Who Will Boots Ennis Fight Next?

Should he get through his rematch with Chikhadzhian unscathed on Saturday night, Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis could be in line for some mammoth fights in 2025.

Many people already regard ‘Boots’ Ennis as the best welterweight in the world, but 2025 could be the year he proves it. He of course holds one of the four recognised world title belts, with three other men holding the rest.

Fans will demand unifications for ‘Boots’ Ennis next year at the very minimum. Many fans would back him to beat the other three champions, but next year should be the year he finally proves whether he is the best 147-pound fighter in the world or not.

Who Will Bam Rodriguez Fight After Guevara?

In Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez you have a man who could well be the face of boxing for the next decade. Although he is a super-flyweight which unfortunately means not as much intrigue and big paydays, ‘Bam’ Rodriguez is an exception to this trend.

‘Bam’ has already defeated legend after legend during his short yet extremely successful pro boxing career. He has destroyed the likes of Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Juan Francisco Estrada and Carlos Cuadras. Not to mention a recent standout victory over Britain’s Sunny Edwards too.

In 2025, many boxing fans will shout for ‘Bam’ Rodriguez to become undisputed at 115-pounds at the very least. Some fans will demand he moves up to bantamweight, where fights with the likes of Junto Nakatani could be on the cards. After that, a bout with Naoya Inoue could even happen in years to come.

Time will tell what happens next year in the career of Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez. He is a pound-for-pound star in the making, and at just 24-years-old he has a decade left in the sport at least. Should he continue on the trajectory he is right now, he could go down in history as one of the best fighters of all time.

Eddie Hearn really does have two stars on his hands in the shape of Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis and Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez. Should they both win this weekend, which the best UK bookmakers are expecting them to do, then 2025 could be the year they dominate world boxing for good.
