Eberechi Eze’s release clause will reactivate once the 2024/25 Premier League season concludes in May. Reports suggest the Crystal Palace star can enter into negotiations with clubs if £68m is offered.

Eagles chairman Steve Parish admitted he was ‘astonished’ that none of the Big Six took advantage of Eze’s release clause this summer.

Eze signed a new deal at Selhurst Park last November. Meaning he could potentially leave south London if the now elapsed clause was met.

However, the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham all failed to make their move. Eze will now stay with Palace until next summer at least.

Eberechi Eze’s Release Clause

Eberechi Eze’s release clause has been a hot topic of discussion at Selhurst Park throughout the off-season. After he impressed for club and country last year, it remains to be seen why nobody triggered it.

Eze scored 11 times in the Premier League in 2023/24, providing four assists as well. His impressive season saw him included in Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for Euro 2024.

After impressing off the bench in the tournament, it looked almost a certainty that one of England or Europe’s top sides would come in for him.

Nonetheless, it wasn’t to be and Palace fans will be delighted that Eze is theirs for the 2024/25 campaign. At the time of writing, the best football betting sites in the UK have Tottenham as the favourites to sign Eze.

North London rivals Arsenal are second favourites followed by Liverpool and the two Manchester clubs. Therefore, interest in Eze will surely be high come the end of the season.

The Three Lions star began his senior professional career with EFL Championship club Queens Park Rangers. After a series of dazzling displays in west London, Eze moved across the capital.

Since joining Palace in 2020, Eze has provided 42 goal contributions from 115 Premier League appearances.
