EA FC 25 goalkeeper glitch

A new EA FC 25 goalkeeper glitch has left players desperate for EA to fix the bug which lets people move their opponent’s keeper in online games.

It has been a rocky start to this year’s game cycle for FC 25. Already the worst-reviewed game in the FIFA/EA FC series’ history, this latest glitch is just one of many often game-breaking bugs and glitches that have been reported so far.

As well as numerous in-game issues, fans have also complained about a lack of new features. Popular game modes such as Career Mode and Pro Clubs have seen little improvement over recent titles.

And many have lamented EA’s apparent focus on maximising profits over game quality.

The ever-increasing prevalence of micro-transactions and the ‘pay-to-win’ feel of the game’s flagship online mode Ultimate Team have already turned lots of people off from the series.

But with players finding and exploiting so many glitches in the gameplay, even more people are incensed.

And of all the bugs discovered so far, few are as capable of ruining a match as this one.

EA FC 25 Goalkeeper Glitch Explained

Twitter (now X) user @RubanACR_ posted a video on the platform breaking down the EA FC 25 goalkeeper glitch.

In the video, he explains how the glitch works. In certain situations, it is currently possible to move the opponent’s goalkeeper.

This allows players to run the opposition keeper out of the goal, leaving an empty net and an easy chance to score.

The glitch is possible in Rush, Pro Clubs and Ultimate Team, though it is only possible in co-op games on Ultimate Team.

As explained in the video, the glitch can be exploited on set-pieces – be it a throw in, corner or free kick.

To perform the cheesy tactic and move an opponent’s keeper, you simply have to press in the right stick on the controller and move it in the direction you want them to run.

While obviously cheating, this gives players a chance to leave a wide-open net and score an easy goal.

Players are able to negate the glitch by running their keeper back into position, but many people are likely to be caught unawares and fail to react in time.

This is no doubt something EA will act quickly to patch. But the fact something so obviously broken and easily exploited has been allowed into the game from its official launch is another indicator of the poor quality of this year’s title.

Whether or not players choose to exploit the EA FC 25 goalkeeper glitch, or play fair and avoid the tactic, it’s another embarrassing moment for the hugely popular football game’s developers.
