Manchester United Injury Update

Manchester United will be looking to make it three consecutive wins in all competitions when they visit Crystal Palace on Saturday night.

The Red Devils beat Southampton 3-0 at St Mary’s on GW4. That was followed up by a 7-0 thrashing of League One Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.

Erik ten Hag’s side will look to keep the momentum going with a victory against the Eagles. However, their last visit to south London ended in disaster.

Oliver Glasner’s side ran riot and hit United for four without reply. Michael Olise (2), Tyrick Mitchell and Jean-Philippe Mateta all netted for the home side.

That victory meant Palace completed their first ever league double over United. The meeting at Old Trafford last season ended 1-0.

Palace themselves have been on a decent run of form in recent weeks. The Carabao Cup victory against Queens Park Rangers means it is now four games in all competitions unbeaten.

Saturday’s encounter is perfectly poised as both sides look to keep rising up the Premier League table. Ten Hag’s side could make the top six with a win.

Crystal Palace Team News

Rob Holding, Chadi Riad and Matheus Franca are not expected to feature for Crystal Palace against Manchester United on Saturday.  Summer signing Trevoh Chalobah is also a doubt after picking up an injury in training.

Other than that, Oliver Glasner has a fully fit squad to choose from. Eddie Nketiah is expected to start after scoring in the Carabao Cup.

Jean-Philippe Mateta will lead the line with Eberechi Eze playing just off him. Fellow England international Adam Wharton will provide the defensive shield in front of the back line.

Manchester United duo Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount returned to training this week and may feature at Selhurst Park. However, Luke Shaw is expected to miss out.

Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs De Ligt and Lisandro Martinez will form the back four alongside Diogo Dalot.
