With Carabao Cup Third Round action continuing tonight, here’s our Coventry City Vs Tottenham predicted lineups ahead of Wednesday night’s clash.

Hosts Coventry City have made a poor start to their EFL Championship campaign this season. The Sky Blues have won just one of their opening five games, and sit 14th in the table.

Last time out, they drew 1-1 at Watford, but have not beaten anybody other than Oxford United, who they dispatched in both the league and in round two of the cup in August.

For Tottenham, it has been an equally disappointing start. Ange Postecoglou’s men have also won just once in the league, and are 13th in the Premier League table having picked up only four points from four games.

Spurs are still reeling from a 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal in the weekend’s North London derby, and will be desperate for a result to lift the mood.

The two sides have not faced each other since 2013. Spurs were the victors on that day, winning 3-0 in the FA Cup third round.

Coventry have not beaten Tottenham in their past four meetings, last winning in October 2000 when the pair were last both in the Premier League.

There have been 75 meetings between Coventry City and Tottenham, with Spurs winning 35 to Coventry’s 21, as well as 19 draws.

Mark Robins’ injury-hit squad are suffering in the absence of Ben Sheaf. The midfielder is hoping to return from e leg injury by the end of the month, but remains sidelined for now.

And Coventry picked up yet another injury at the Weekend. Joel Latibeaudiere limped off in the second half at Vicarage Road, further shrinking Robins’s pool of available players.

A torrid 2024 for Tatsuhiro Sakamoto has continued into the new season, with the winger still out with an ankle problem.

The Japanese star hopes to return to action sometime in October.

Spurs, meanwhile, are still without Richarlison as the Brazilian continues to recover from a muscle injury that’s kept him out since August.

This means record signing Dominic Solanke is likely to lead the line once more. The £65m man made his home debut in Sunday’s derby deafeat.

Yves Bissouma faces a race to be fit, meaning Pape Sarr and Lucas Bergvall are both in contention to start.

And following their substitute appearances against Arsenal, Timo Werner and Wilson Odobert may be brought in from the start for the trip to the midlands.
