Chelsea star Cole Palmer made Premier League history with an incredible four goals in the first-half against Brighton.

The 22-year-old became the first player in league history to score four inside the first 45 minutes, completing a ten-minute hat-trick from the 21 minute mark and grabbing a fourth ten minutes later.

Palmer, who joined the West London club from Manchester City for £40m last year, has proved to be worth every single penny and more as he continues to take the world by storm.

No player has scored more Premier League hat-tricks for Chelsea than Palmer, joining club legends Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink on three.

He has only made 39 league appearances for the Blues and it surely won’t be long before the 2023-24 PFA Young Player of the Year holds the record on his own.

In just six outings for Chelsea this season, Palmer has racked up six goals and five assists – ranking second league-wide in goals, behind only Erling Haaland (10) and joining assists leader Bukayo Saka at the top.

The youngster has recorded the most Premier League goal involvements (43) since his debut for Chelsea last September, surpassing Haaland (39) and moving well clear of Ollie Watkins (34), Mohamed Salah (32) and Heung-min Son (31).

According to the best football betting sites, Palmer is priced at 10/1 to win the PFA Player of the Year award this season.

Palmer won the treble as part of Man City’s historic 2022-23 squad when Pep Guardiola‘s side lifted the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League to become the first side to achieve that combination in the same season since Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United in 1998-99.

The Manchester-born star was always a very highly rated prospect during his time at the Etihad, but finding a way through to a consistent role with the first-team was always going to prove difficult due to the sheer amount of world-class quality at the club.

When Chelsea came knocking it looked like a no-brainer for Palmer and he has defied the downwards path that many high-profile signings have taken upon arriving to Stamford Bridge over the last few seasons.
