Saturday’s Champions Day at Ascot is one of the premier flat race days of the season, where some of the best horses from Britain, Ireland and France come together for a lucrative day of horse racing. But just how much Champions Day Ascot prize money is on offer to each of the six winning horses?
Over £2.3m In Champions Day Ascot Prize Money For The Winning Horses
Ascot’s six-race Champions Day card will be covered by ITV Racing – with the free-to-air channel showing ALL the Saturday races LIVE that have a total of £2.3m in winning prize money.
Over the afternoon horse racing lovers will get the chance to see some of the best flat equine stars in training – including the William Haggas-trained Economics, who is the big favourite with the best UK horse racing betting sites for the Champion Stakes at 3:55pm.
The 3 year-old was last seen winning the Irish Champions Stakes in gutsy fashion – seeing off the 2023 Derby winner Auguste Rodin (watch below). Economics will be bidding to become the first horse since Magical in 2019 to win both the Irish and British Champions Stakes in the same season.
This son of Night Of Thunder will face a stern test from the French-trained Calandagan, who was last seen running this year’s Epsom Derby City Of Troy to a length in the Juddmonte International at York at the end of August.
While the Aidan O’Brien runner – Los Angeles, who was last seen running third in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, makes the race even more of a ‘must-see’ event.

Champions Stakes Has The Most Prize Money on Champions Day at Ascot
The Champions Stakes is also the race that carries the most Champions Day Ascot prize money, with £737,230 on offer to the winner.
Economics has already banked £938,130 in total prize money so will be fully expected to break the £1m barrier after this race – win, lose or draw.

The second highest Champions Day Ascot prize money race is the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at 3:15pm, with £655,709 on offer to the winner.
