The wife of Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has hit back at critics and trolls with an Instagram post showcasing the Brazilian’s trophy cabinet following the Red Devils’ 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
Manchester United drew the Premier League gameweek to a close with the latest installment of the North East Derby on Sunday afternoon as they welcomed bitter rivals Liverpool to Old Trafford.
United were looking to bounce back after suffering a late defeat to Brighton last time out, however that was far from the case, as Arne Slot’s Reds ran riot at the Theatre of Dreams, winning by a comfortable 3-0 scoreline.
Luis Diaz netted two first half goals to give Liverpool lead at the break, before the ever-reliable Mohamed Salah found a third for the visitors, maintaining their 100% record three games into the Premier League season.
As is standard following a Manchester United defeat, fans and pundits typically point the finger at certain players within the squad, as well as the manager, and this time was no different.
Many criticised Marcus Rashford and Andre Onana for their performances, while others blamed Erik ten Hag for the way he set his side up, but perhaps receiving the most criticism was Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.
The 32-year-old was particularly at fault for Liverpool’s first goal, as his misplaced pass allowed the Reds to break quickly before Ryan Gravenberch and Salah combined to find Diaz, who headed home at the far post.
Influencers such as Mark Goldbridge and some United fans with large social media followings berated the five-time Champions League winner for his mistake, with some blaming him for the defeat altogether.

In response to those critical of her husband, Anna Mariana, Casemiro’s wife, posted an Instagram story showcasing the ex-Real Madrid man’s trophy cabinet, which includes three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, five Champions League titles, three UEFA Super Cups, three FIFA Club World Cups, an FA Cup, a Carabao Cup, a Copa America, and many more.
Of course, this angered some Manchester United fans, encouraging even more criticism to be directed his way as a result.
Anna Mariana followed this up with another post on her Instagram story, this time with a message of encouragement for her husband, as well as for his employers.
