The 21-year-old made light work of his opponent as he cruised to a straight-sets victory. Furthermore, it is Alcaraz’s third consecutive win against the Russian.

Earlier this year, the Spaniard beat Medvedev in the Wimbledon semi-final as well as the final at Indian Wells. Now, he has made the final of the China Open at the expense of the 28-year-old.

However, the most recent 7-5, 6-3 win didn’t tell the whole story of a fascinating match up. The pair certainly entertained the crowd with a stunning display of world class tennis.

Earlier this week, Alcaraz said he was ready to go to ‘war’ with Medvedev to secure his place in the final. He will now face World No.1 Jannik Sinner.
