Brighton Wolves predicted lineups

As both sides prepare for an all-Premier League meeting in the Carabao Cup, here’s our Brighton Vs Wolves predicted lineups before Wednesday’s game.

Two clubs who have made very different starts to the season will meet in the Carabao Cup Third Round this week.

Brighton are unbeaten in the Premier League after four games. The Seagulls have won two and drawn two so far, and sit in sixth place at the moment.

At just 31, new boss Fabian Hürzeler is the youngest manager in Premier League history, but has made a superb start on the South Coast.

Wolves meanwhile are in the relegation zone, having picked up just one point thus far.

They coughed up an early lead to lose 2-1 at home to Newcastle at the weekend, and will be desperate for a result to go their way.

While often neglected until the latter stages, the Carabao Cup might be the perfect opportunity for the West Midlands club to pick up a crucial win and lift their spirits.

Brighton Team News

Brighton’s Joao Pedro is unlikely to be fit in time for Wednesday night. The Brazilian forward picked up a minor knock over the international break, and will probably not be risked just yet.

The Seagulls may therefore hand a start to record signing Georgino Rutter, while Evan Ferguson could continue regaining fitness from the bench.

Having impressed in Saturday’s draw with Ipswich, Carlos Baleba could well be rested given Brighton’s current injury worries in midfield.

Premier League elder statesman James Milner remains out with a hamstring problem, and is expected back in October.

New signings Mats Wieffer and Matt O’Riley are also sidelined at the moment.

Wolves Team News

Wolves have their own fresh injury woes to deal with after Andre and Rayan Ait Nouri both hobbled off during the defeat to Newcastlle on Sunday.

It’s likely that Goncalo Guedes will move into the starting XI to replace Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Meanwhile, new additions Tommy Doyle and Carlos Forbs are both in contention for the starting place on Wednesday night.
