Following on from the Dubai Desert Classic and the Genesis Scottish Open, this week’s BMW PGA Championship will be the third (or five) in the Rolex Series this season.

Rory McIlroy One Of The Favourites To Win The 2024 BWM PGA Championship

BMW PGA Championship Prize Money 2024: How Much Will The Winner Earn and Full Breakdown?

The world-ranked number 3 player – Rory McIlroy – will be one of the big star names on show at this week’s 2024 BMW PGA Championships at Wentworth.

McIlroy is turning out again quickly after this final round disappointment in last week’s Irish Open – when losing out by just a shot to Danish player Rasmus Højgaard after spending most of the tournament leading.

Rory McIlroy’s only win in the BMW PGA Championships came in 2014, when he recorded a -14 score to beat Ireland’s Shane Lowry.

Since then McIlroy has also recorded a tied second (with Jon Rahm) in 2022, plus was also runner-up in 2018.

The best golf betting sites in the UK, are making Rory McIlroy their favourite to win the 2024 BWM PGA Championship.

Ryan Fox Looking To Become The First Back-to-Back BMW PGA Championship Winner Since Luke Donald

12 months ago, Ryan Fox became the first Australian golfer to win the BMW PGA Championship since Mike Harwood in 1990.

Fox will be back to defend his crown in 2024, but the best betting sites in the UK are making him a big outsider to repeat the feat.

If Ryan Fox can win again, he’ll join other recent back-to-back winners of the BMW PGA Championship that include Luke Donald (2011/12) and Colin Montgomerie, who won the event three years on the spin between 1998 and 2000.

Last Week’s Irish Open Winner Rasmus Højgaard Also In BMW PGA Action

Rasmus Højgaard got over the line to take last week’s Irish Open by a shot from Rory McIlroy and the Dane is also expected to be teeing up at Wentworth Golf Club this week.

Højgaard will be looking to become the first player since Ian Woosnam in 1988 to win both the Irish Open and BMW PGA Championship in the same season.
