Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter have both been named in Great Britain’s team for the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup.

The 2021 US Open champion makes up the five-woman team alongside Boulter. They will be joined by the trio of Harriet Dart, Heather Watson and doubles specialist Olivia Nicholls.

However, the lineup may look different by the time the competition  comes around. Captain Anne Keothavong can make up to three changes prior to GB’s opener against Germany.

With just under eight weeks to go until this year’s extravaganza, fitness and form can dictate final selections. Sonay Kartal is pushing hard for a place after winning her maiden WTA Tour title in Tunisia.

When Is The 2024 Billie Jean King Cup?

The 2024 edition of the Billie Jean King Cup will be held between 13-20 November in Malaga, Spain. This will be the fourth year the competition has been known as the Billie Jean King Cup.

Between 1995 and 2019, the competition was known as the Fed Cup. Prior to that, it was simply known as the Federation Cup between 1963 and 1994.

Great British tennis fans will be quietly confident of a strong showing on the Costa del Sol later this year. However, the GB Team has never won the competition.

They have finished runners-up on four separate occasions. With the last coming in 1981. Nonetheless, Raducanu and Co will be aiming to bring home a maiden title this time around.

If Great Britain does get the better of Germany on November 15, they will face current champions Canada in the quarter-finals.

In the qualifiers in April, Emma Raducanu was the standout performer after recording victories in her two matches to upset the odds against France on clay.

Captain Anne Keothavong said of Great Britian’s chances: “We are really looking forward to the finals in Malaga after qualifying following our fantastic weekend in France in April.

“Our team have created excellent memories over the last couple of years and will relish the opportunity in November.
