Having previously finished fourth overall a decade ago, Big Man Bakar is a fully-fledged Fantasy expert. In his second instalment in a new series for Sportscasting, he offers up his FPL Gameweek 4 tips.
For the context of this article, a ‘differential’ is a considered to be a player owned by roughly 15% or less of FPL managers.
Big Man Bakar’s FPL Gameweek 4 Tips
Yankuba Minteh
- (Ownership: 2.0%, Price: £5.5m)
Andrew Robertson
- (Ownership: 6.7%, Price: £6.0m)
Liverpool are ranked in the top two teams for clean sheet odds in each of the next two Gameweeks so this seems like an ideal window to jump on a Liverpool defender.
If you already own Trent, then Robertson seems like the next best defender to buy. This particularly applies to FPL managers looking to Wildcard in GW6 – for them, this is an ideal time to jump off an Arsenal defender (before Arsenal play Spurs and City) and jump on Robertson, right before Liverpool play Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth at home.
In terms of chance creation, Robertson ranks third among defenders in the league this season so there’s always a decent chance of an attacking return to go with the clean sheet potential.
Rico Lewis
- (Ownership: 9.1%, Price: £4.7m)
Although I’m still not convinced of Lewis’ minutes in the long-term, he seems like a good enough option if you have a solid bench to cover for his potential absences.
With the Champions League coming into play soon, he may not be a secure starter but considering that he is a £4.7m priced City defender, expectations need to be kept realistic.
Why I like him despite the minutes risk is because of the upside that he has in his locker. In the first three Gameweeks, he ranks as the first defender for penalty area touches with 18 – for context, the next best defender has 9 penalty area touches.
Man City are bookmakers’ favourites for a clean sheet this week so this looks like a good time to pick him.
