FPL Gameweek 6 Differentials

Big Man Bakar returns in a weekly series for Sportscasting to offer his favourite FPL Gameweek 6 differentials.

Big Man Bakar’s Best FPL Gameweek 6 Differentials

For the context of this article, a ‘differential’ is a considered to be a player owned by roughly 15% or less of FPL managers.

Rico Lewis

  • (Ownership: 10.6%, Price: £4.7m)

I’m warming to the idea of owning Rico Lewis in the next few weeks.

I don’t think too many managers will opt for him due to the rotation concerns, which seems reasonable. If your bench can handle his occasional absences, he’s still a good option.

Priced at £4.7m as a City defender, expectations should stay realistic. I like him because, despite the risk, he has impressive potential. He’s 1st among defenders for penalty area touches & 2nd for big chances so comes with a huge ceiling.

He isn’t completely nailed but at that price, even with the absence of Rodri, surely is a no-brainer over the likes of Konsa, Pinnock and Dunk?

He also allows for significant cash savings over Gvardiol.

Antoine Semenyo

  • (Ownership: 7.8%, Price: £5.6m)

Semenyo is emerging as a really good differential to own this week. He’s ranked 6th for xGi among all midfielders in the league this season and is head and shoulders above his Bournemouth team mates for underlying data, beating them for penalty area touches, xGi, shots and big chances.

The next two fixtures are as good as they get – with two promoted teams Leicester City and Southampton next on the agenda. Bournemouth are ranked 5th for xG this season – and that is despite the tough fixtures, so goals should be on the menu.

Currently, I prefer him to Emile Smith Rowe and Dwight McNeil as a result of his superior underlying data and upcoming fixtures.

Mark Flekken

  • (Ownership: 10.8%, Price: £4.5m)

Flekken is the clear £4.5m GK of choice for those on Wildcard who don’t have the funds for David Raya.

West Ham, Wolves, Man United, Ipswich, Fulham, Bournemouth, Everton and Leicester is such a good run! He’s already top for saves this season – what helps is that Brentford are second for shots conceded outside the box which helps him rack up the saves quite frequently.

In each of the past three seasons, Brentford have been in the top eight for the least xG conceded while also being among the top five teams for the most shots allowed from outside the penalty area.

This combination is perfect for a goalkeeper to score on a consistent basis.
