Aston Villa Bologna

Aston Villa boast a huge advantage over their upcoming European opponents, Bologna, as the Villains’ squad value is over two-times more than the Serie A side.

Unai Emery’s men recorded one of their biggest wins in history during GW2 of the Champions League, as the Villains beat Bayern Munich 1-0 at Villa Park.

Jhon Duran’s superb strike was enough to secure all three-points and made it two wins from the opening two matches for the Premier League side.

Villa’s form in recent weeks has been next to faultless, remaining undefeated from their last nine matches in all competitions.

In fact, this purple patch has seen them lose just once this season, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League back in August.

As for their opponents on Tuesday evening, results have been hard to come by and Bologna have picked up just nine points from their opening eight league matches.

The Italian side have won just one match in all competitions and have played out several draws (1W, 7D, 2L) – losing to Liverpool 3-0 in their last UCL match.

Bologna are without a win in their last four matches (all competitions) and are underdogs on UK betting sites for their match against Aston Villa.

While this may be down to recent results, however, the Premier League side also boast a huge advantage when looking at the squad values of both sides.

Aston Villa’s squad is worth over twice as much as Bologna’s – the Serie A sides’ most expensive player does not make the top 13 when you combine the squads, with Ollie Watkins is the most valuable player at £54.8 million.
