Juventus fans were left stunned and confused on Monday after a hacked post appeared on the club’s official English Twitter account.

The post claimed that the Bianconeri had completed a sensational transfer for Real Madrid’s Arda Guler, a move that would have come completely out of the blue.

The false rumour of Guler’s transfer to Juventus was particularly surprising given his current situation at Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old Turkish midfielder joined Los Blancos from Fenerbahçe last summer but has struggled with injuries and limited playing time in his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He has made just 17 La Liga appearances for the Spanish giants, scoring six goals.

The hacked Juventus post suggested that Guler had signed a long-term contract with the Bianconeri, a move that would have been a major coup for the Italian club.

However, the club quickly issued a statement confirming that the account had been compromised and that the false information should be disregarded.

“Our Juventus English account has been compromised,” the statement read. “Please ignore the false information being published on this account. We are working on the issue.”

Juventus, for their part, will be hoping to put the hacking incident behind them and focus on their upcoming matches.

The Bianconeri are currently third in the Serie A table and are also competing in the Champions League. Their next match is against VfB Stuttgart on Tuesday in Turin.
